Ebony Gee faces charges of second-degree desecration of human remains and second-degree witness tampering following the discovery of a deceased four-month-old infant
A woman has been charged following the discovery of a deceased four-month-old infant in Camden, New Jersey.
Ebony Gee faces charges of second-degree desecration of human remains and second-degree witness tampering, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation began on May 19, when police and emergency responders were called to a home on the 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive for a report of an unresponsive infant.
Upon arrival, the baby was found deceased, wrapped in a bin bag and placed inside a bassinet.
Authorities say 43-year-old Gee had been caring for the child, who was identified through DNA testing as a four-month-old from Philadelphia, since mid-April, at the request of the baby’s biological parents.

Messages reviewed by investigators confirm communication between Gee and the child’s mother, who reportedly tried to reclaim custody several times so the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) could conduct home visits.
A witness told investigators that Gee frequently stayed in a second-story bedroom with the baby but never allowed others to see the infant.
Eventually, the witness entered the room, discovered the deceased child, and alerted authorities. Investigators also alleged Gee sent threatening messages to that witness on the day the body was found.
Due to the condition of the remains, the medical examiner was unable to determine the cause or cause of death.
Gee was arrested in Philadelphia by U.S. Marshals on Monday and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
The horrific case comes after a four-month-old baby girl was found dead inside a hotel cupboard drawer.
Brooklyn Fancher was found unresponsive inside the drawer at Days Inn, Houston, in May 2024, and declared dead at the scene. A coroner concluded that she tragically died by suffocation.
Investigators believe the baby’s parents, Jeremy Fancher and Destiny Campos, put her inside the drawer so they could have sex at the hotel room.
They have both been charged with her murder.
“She [Campos] acknowledged that the child was placed inside of this drawer on several different occasions and indicated the reasons why the child was placed there, one of which was to aid in, uh, the defendant and the co-defendant to have ‘personal time’ together,” the judge said during the hearing.
Furthermore, Fancher’s current partner, Marilyn Monk, was also arrested and charged with hindering apprehension.
Brooklyn’s heartbroken grandmother, Lisa Farrell, told local media she hopes her daughter spends life behind bars, as well as her Jeremy.
“I think they should spend the entirety of what her lifespan would be in prison,” Farrell said. “Due to the fact that she [Brooklyn] will never graduate, never get married, never have her own kid. They took that away from her, and that’s unfair.”
Farrell admitted she has “nothing to say” to her daughter following her arrest.
“I don’t want to speak to her. I don’t have anything to say to her because when I seen her, she didn’t cry. She didn’t show remorse losing her child. And that bothers me,” Farrell said.
