With the schools set to break up for the summer any day now, it’s time to start planning how exactly you’re going to spend the summer holidays. With six weeks off to fill, it can feel a little daunting trying to plan plenty of activities that’ll keep your little ones engaged and busy without breaking the bank.

However we’ve found a great way to not only plan out some fun activities this summer, but to also save yourself some money in the process. Currently Virgin Experience Days is running a major summer sale, and one fantastic offer lets you get a family trip to Legoland Windsor Resort with a huge £48 saving.

The Legoland Windsor Resort Visit for Three is usually priced at £135, but for a limited time you can snap up the experience for £87, saving you almost £50 and knocking 36% off the price. The deal lets you take three people – whether that be two children and one adult, or two adults and one child – for a fun day out at the iconic theme park.

Blackstone Group LP, which is seeking to raise a record buyout fund, agreed to buy Lego A/S's Legoland theme parks for 375 million euros ($457 million) to add to its entertainment investments including the London Dungeon. Not only that, but children under 90cm will also be able to join you free of charge, which means you can bring along any younger kids without having to pay extra. Although Legoland is primarily designed for children aged 3 to 12, it also has attractions suitable for toddlers and pre-schoolers, with a dedicated DUPLO area and rides designed for younger children, not to mention plenty of opportunities for older kids and adults to have fun too.

If you’re looking for an activity that has more for a wider range of ages, Red Letter Days is currently offering Thorpe Park Resort Entry Tickets for Two which you can get for £70. You will have to be 120cm and above to take advantage of the pass, and you’ll also get the opportunity to add extra guests to your pass during the booking process.

You can also snap up several theme park passes at Visit Britain, including Legoland, Alton Towers and Chessington World of Adventures. However some of these passes are yet to be released, so you’ll need to check back to keep an eye out for them.

However Virgin Experience Days also offers several other theme park attraction deals, as well as other Legoland options for more people if you have a larger family. The Legoland Windsor Resort Visit for Three pass is a great way to save some money on a fun day out, with over 55 rides, live shows and attractions set over 150 acres of parkland.

Shoppers have also praised the discounted pass, with one saying: “I bought this Legoland experience for my family and it worked out cheaper than booking directly with Legoland. The booking process was seamless and the instructions were very clear – I would repurchase again!”

Some warned: “We were brought this for Xmas to take out little girl. We selected a day which they had the festival on as well and this was all included! Brilliant day out. The only bad side is you have to pay for car parking which isn’t included in the voucher. It was £12 for the day which is a lot of your paying on top of a ticket.”

Another said: “Good fun but long queues.”

Other shoppers were thrilled with the pass, saying: “Very nice theme park, great for kids up to 11 years old I would say.”
