Police are conducting a search near a well-known Cheshire beauty spot this evening following the disappearance of a woman.
Rachel Booth, 38, from Northwich, was reported missing earlier today, with officers expressing ‘increasing concern for her welfare. ‘. She was last sighted in the Barnton area of Northwich.
CCTV footage then placed her at the Sandiway Garage on the A556 around 3.50am. Tonight, police have confirmed they are ‘conducting enquiries’ in Oakmere and the ‘surrounding area. ‘

The village is conveniently located near Delamere Forest, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Police said: “We would like to thank local businesses for their patience and understanding while these are ongoing.” A popular watersports centre in Oakmere announced on social media that ‘police have requested that we close the site to aid their investigation.’
Wild Shore Delamere, a water-based adventure hub, said: “Due to ongoing police investigations in the surrounding area, Wildshore Delamere will remain closed tomorrow, Sunday, July 20th. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
“The incident is unrelated to Wild Shore – however, we wish to help as much as possible – so we will be closing the site until further notice. If your booking is affected by this closure, please contact our customer services team. We’ll be happy to arrange a refund or reschedule your session for a later date. Thank you for your understanding.
Rachel is described as being is described as being 5′ 9″ tall, of a slim build, with blonde hair. She is thought to be wearing black leggings and a black top.
Earlier, Cheshire Police Inspector James Wilson expressed: “We are currently conducting a number of enquiries to trace Rachel and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare. Anyone who has seen Rachel since she was reported missing is asked to contact us. The same goes for anyone who has any information on her whereabouts.
