A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and is being held in custody after another woman aged 53 was found dead at a home in Thornaby, North Yorkshire
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after another female, aged 53, was found dead at a property on Friday afternoon.
Cleveland Police rushed to the incident in Thornaby, North Yorkshire on Friday at 4.45pm, following the death of the woman. A 25-year-old woman is now being held in custody over the incident that took place in Cornfield Road. An investigation is currently underway, with a crime scene established at the property.
The force is appealing to the public for information, urging anyone with details that can help the investigation to get in touch. A police van has been pictured by a house with officers again at the scene today and a cordon remains in place.
An officer has also been seen going door-to-door as the police speak to other people in the area about what happened.
A statement from Cleveland Police read: “At 4.45pm on Friday 25 July police were called to Cornfield Road following the death of a woman, aged 53, at a property.
“A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and is currently in police custody for questioning. A scene is currently in place as part of the investigation. Anyone who has information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting reference number 139239.”
