Arsenal await bid for goalkeeper with six players available for transfer

Arsenal are open to selling a number of players after wrapping up the arrival of their sixth summer signing, Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal are looking to offload some of the players on the periphery on Mikel Arteta’s squad

Arsenal are open to offers for goalkeeper Karl Hein this summer and the Gunners are waiting to see if Sevilla formalise their interest in the 23-year-old. The Estonia international penned a new contract at the Emirates last summer before heading out on loan.

But this time around, Arsenal are prioritising permanent bids for the young shot-stopper and want to push through a sale to avoid losing Hein on a free transfer in 2026.

Sevilla are among those interested but they are short of cash and are keen to explore a loan swoop for Newcastle’s Odysseas Vlachodimos instead.

Arsenal have a strong relationship with their La Liga counterparts after loaning midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga to Sevilla last season.

The move was deemed beneficial for the Belgian even though injuries halted his progress and if they had more funds available, they would have been open to signing the midfielder on a permanent deal.

Crucially, Hein has already proven his worth in the Spanish top-flight after impressing on loan at Real Valladolid last season despite their relegation. Hein made 31 appearances in La Liga following a last-minute call to snub Charlton Athletic.

A shoulder issue saw him sit out five games in March and April but he returned before the end of the campaign and has since missed Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia with a thumb injury.

It’s understood he also has admirers from the Championship and Europe with a summer transfer firmly on the cards.

Following the capture of Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, the Gunners will ramp up their quest to raise cash through player sales.

Reiss Nelson is admired by Fulham and could leave, Fabio Vieira and Oleksandr Zinchenko are also free to pursue an exit while Albert Sambi Lokonga is almost certain to depart.

Arsenal would likely also consider bids for forward Gabriel Jesus amid interest from Flamengo but he is currently prioritising his return to fitness following knee surgery. Last year, Jesus’ former club Palmeiras also made an approach that was rebuffed by Arsenal, it remains to be seen whether they return to the table.

Despite his absence, Jesus remains appreciated by Mikel Arteta, who would still welcome having another forward option at his disposal as the 28-year-old can also play out wide or off the striker.

Jakub Kiwior is poised to stay barring a drastic U-turn as Arteta is a firm admirer of the Pole, even if he’ll remain second in command to Gabriel Magalhaes.
