The family of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne have reportedly been left devastated by the ‘sickening’ rumours surrounding the star’s death.

The Black Sabbath frontman died on 22 July, aged 76, just weeks after making a comeback to the stage. His wife of 43 years, Sharon Osbourne, was by his side during their final moments together, after an air ambulance raced to their Buckinghamshire home.

It was widely known that the singer had been fighting Parkinson’s disease for several years, having first been diagnosed in 2003.

Fans were stunned by the news of the metal legend’s death, which was confirmed in a statement from the Osbourne family. It read: “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

The musician had three children with his wife – Aimee, Jack and Kelly Osbourne – who are thought to have been present when he passed away.

Despite his long-term illness and advanced age, online trolls have been circulating distressing rumours that the Black Sabbath icon took his own life.

These allegations were even broadcast on various US radio stations, including Sirius XM, which hosts a channel solely dedicated to Ozzy.

A distraught family friend told The Sun: “The family are still grieving, and to deal with this bull*** is vile. It has deeply sickened Sharon and the children. Ozzy passed away at home, and the paramedics tried to save him-fact.”

The insider went on: “It is simply disgusting, because these social media idiots are not credible, but somehow their narrative is spreading every day. Even though they have no knowledge, other online users treat this fake news as fact. The raft of trolls and rumours has spiralled in recent days.

“It is quite sick that people would think that Ozzy would do such a thing. The man absolutely loved being around his family and his grandchildren especially.”

Sources disclosed the family has been subjected to a wave of horrific accusations with many suggesting they were possibly involved in the false conspiracy claims. These are believed to have caused a great deal of distress during an already incredibly tough period.

The absurd allegations have caused a stir among thousands of people online, using news outlets and social media sites.

People have been driven to even create AI videos which wrongfully show Ozzy speaking about wanting to end his life.

An insider told the publication: “Ozzy had been in great spirits following his farewell show, but he also had lots to look forward to in the upcoming months”.

“There’s no way he would’ve taken his life, because no matter how tough his physical and medical conditions were, being with his family and especially his grandchildren provided him with immense joy and huge highs.”

A source has revealed that Ozzy was actually in the process of working on a potential TV documentary focusing on his Black Sabbath farewell show. Additionally, he was said to be “looking forward” to promoting his forthcoming memoir, due out in September.
