Scotland boasts no shortage of popular holiday parks and camping destinations. From the Scottish Borders stretching to the northern Highlands, countless staycation spots await families seeking the perfect getaway.

For those uncertain about their next destination, one particular holiday park stands out with its breathtaking location and comprehensive amenities. So much so that visitors consistently praise their experiences at this remarkable site.

Brighouse Bay Holiday Park sits majestically along the Dumfries and Galloway coastline. It comes after reports of a small fishing village with some of the UK’s best seafood but hardly any tourists.

The Brighouse Bay Holiday Park overlooks the pristine waters of Brighouse Bay, with a golden sandy beach positioned directly adjacent to the grounds, reports the Daily Record.

The site accommodates diverse accommodation preferences, offering numerous hardstanding and grass pitches suitable for tents and caravans. Additionally, guests can choose from an array of holiday cottages, lodges and static caravans.

Holiday booking platform Pitchup highlights the park’s “private beach” as a key attraction. This secluded stretch of sand lies merely moments from the accommodation and provides the perfect setting for scenic strolls or peaceful sunbathing sessions.

Regarding on-site amenities, the park boasts a comprehensive leisure centre featuring a heated indoor swimming pool. Families with young children will appreciate the dedicated toddler pool, while adults can unwind in the hot tub.

The holiday destination also houses a welcoming bar where guests can savour food and beverages. Meanwhile, The Brig restaurant presents an appealing selection of lunch and dinner options, featuring a comprehensive pizza selection.

There’s also an 18-hole golf course boasting breathtaking coastal vistas across Wigtownshire, the Isle of Man, and the Lake District. A putting green and six-bay driving range are also on hand for guests looking to perfect their swing.

An on-site licensed store stocks everyday necessities, including bread, milk, rolls, and ice cream. Holidaymakers can also pick up buckets and spades, souvenirs, gas cylinders, and plenty more.

Two children’s play areas and two toilet blocks round out the amenities at Brighouse Bay Holiday Park. There’s also an all-tide slipway where visitors can enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, and rowing.

On Pitchup, Brighouse Bay Holiday Park has secured an impressive overall rating of 8.6 out of 10. The park has garnered 376 reviews on the platform, with 88 per cent of guests saying they would recommend it to a friend.

One holidaymaker wrote: “Park was clean and tidy, toilets and showers were clean, washing up facility for dishes was good and the dog bath worked wonders for our dogs to cool them down when it was really hot. Will definitely be back.”

Another commented: “Welcomed by friendly and approachable staff on arrival, as well as lovely pleasant bar staff at the leisure facility. Loved the fact the beach was pretty much on the campsite door step. The park was great and had things to do for all ages of children.”
