A a couple have left their neighbours with no sleep, with not even the police able to help them. And now others have praised them for their unique way of dealing with it
A fighting couple are keeping their neighbours up until the early hours of the morning with their spats. A post to the r/PettyRevenge Reddit page has seen a furious homeowner seek out a wild solution to the shouting matches. After being told the police could not help, the sleepless person shared what they did to make it stop.
The nightly fights between the couple left the adjoining home struggling for sleep. In a post to the forum, members of the public praised the person for their unique way of dealing with the noise. They shared how the fights would go on for hours, and that police were unable to intervene.
Not only were they unable to do anything about the fighting, they eventually stopped showing up to the property. It left the furious neighbour with no choice but to get revenge.
They wrote: “My neighbour’s fighting every night kept me awake. I was living in a duplex next to a couple. Their fights lasted hours every day running long into the night with the guy screaming at the absolute top of his lungs non stop. I called the police a few times but they stopped showing up.
“I noticed in our shared wall that there was a panel you could remove to access pipes in the wall.
“When I opened it the screaming was even louder.” This revelation led to a brilliant solution from the Reddit user, who shared their brilliant trick with members of the forum.
They shared: “One day after hours of their screaming I decided to put a microphone on a stick up into the wall cavity. I recorded their fight for at least half an hour. When I listened to the recording it had captured pretty good audio.
“I put my Marshall quadbox (big guitar speaker) up against the shared wall and played their screaming back at them.
“The guy immediately came over banging on my front door. I ignored him and turned it up louder.
“Every time they started screaming I recorded it and played it back to them. After a few weeks of this I didn’t hear a peep out of them.”
Members of the public praised the unique way of dealing with the arguments, saying the neighbours likely kept quiet after being left “mortified” by the recording.
One user of the forum wrote: “They must be mortified listening to their own stupid b******t.” Another added: “Literally gave them a taste of what they were dishing out!”
A third praised the choice to play back their arguments, writing: “Awesome! Now they know exactly how they sound to the outside world. It’s likely they are humiliated and now they will keep their fights to a minimum lest they are recorded and played back for all to hear.”
