Swifties the world over have gone wild for the announcement that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged, with the Instagram post that announced it garnering a whopping 34 million likes. The post was captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” as the pair shared a carousel of adorable images from the engagement Travis had painstakingly planned.
Many Swifties have been quick to point out that it took Taylor until her mid-30s to get engaged find her happily ever after, sharing that Taylor is “relatable”. Some have even listed her past failed relationships, saying that some people may not be happy about the news.
However, one of Taylor’s alleged ex-boyfriends before she found fame has come forward and made a wild offer to the ‘Love Story’ hitmaker.
Posting a picture of himself and Taylor as kids on X, Andrew Slye joked: “That feeling when your girlfriend from high school finally gets engaged.
” I used to tell myself, ‘Andrew, it’ll be ok. She wasn’t right for you. I just hope her husband isn’t some handsome buff football player.’.
However, in a random turn of events, he then thanked Taylor for bringing him and his now-wife together, as they bonded over her music.
Andrew continued: “I wouldn’t have hit it off with my wife if it weren’t for Taylor. Taylor was a topic the first time we met.
“We bonded over the music. Now we film weddings as a husband/wife team. We love to film football weddings (like this ND one) Is anyone else thinking what I’m thinking?”
Someone replied: “Looks like you’re a wedding photographer… Maybe she can use one coming up?!”
He joked: “She might have a limited budget. We’ll see”. Taylor Swift is, indeed, a billionaire.
A man responded: “I didn’t realise it until now, but I want everyone with a song about them to have a job at the wedding”.
This would make for an extremely interesting day and night for Taylor and Travis…
People told the man that his sense of humour was “gold,” saying he may not have made it work with Taylor, but “at least you’re funny”.
“Sounds like a Hallmark movie,” someone joked.
While another added: “You could give her a discount for old times’ sake.”
Travis got down on one knee, surrounded by stunning flowers in a garden, after the pair had been together for just two years.
Taylor’s engagement ring featured one large diamond, with the gold band resting on her finger as it glistened under the sun.
According to TMZ, Travis helped design the ring. The outlet reports that it has learned that the engagement ring is an Old Mine Brilliant Cut by designer Kindred Lubeck, adding that sources say the jewellery was worked on by Travis on the design.
