Tributes have been paid to a 12-year-old boy who died after reportedly falling from a roundabout in a playground with a tragic history.

Logan Carter died on Friday following an incident at the Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford, Cheshire. Emergency services were called shortly after 6pm. Liverpool fan Logan was given treatment but died at the scene.

Logan is thought have died after being flung from a roundabout in the play park, and there were claims locally that an e-bike had been used to spin it around.

His family said in a statement: “Logan was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, great grandson, cousin and friend to many. He had an infectious personality and a beautiful smile. Everyone wanted to be where Logan was. He was a little boy who was so full of life and wanted to make everyone laugh.

“He made every day worth living. Logan was everyone’s therapy person, their calm and he will be missed more than we can ever put into words. We are taking comfort from the words of support we have received whilst we take time to come to terms with the untimely loss of our blue eyed boy.”

Dozens of floral tributes and a Liverpool shirt with family nickname “Bear” have been left at the scene. One read: “You will always be in our hearts forever. Love Aunty June & Uncle Bri.”

Another read: “Fly high handsome boy. Sleep tight. Loving you always and forever. Aunty Del & Uncle Dave.”

“Our thoughts are with the family and all those affected at this incredibly difficult time. As a school community, we will be offering support to students, staff, and families.

“Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be making any further comment at this time.” It’s the second tragedy to involve a 12-year-old boy in the play park.
