With a whopping 40,000 tennis enthusiasts flocking to South West London each summer, it’s no surprise that Wimbledon championship tickets are as rare as hen’s teeth. Hopeful fans can now toss their names into the hat for next year’s tournament, after the 2026 ballot opened on Tuesday.

With demand massively outweighing supply, entering the ballot certainly doesn’t guarantee a seat at the world’s most prestigious tennis Grand Slam. However, with thousands of tickets up for grabs, it’s certainly worth a shot – you can’t win the raffle if you don’t buy a ticket.

It’s believed that roughly 1 in 10 applicants hit the jackpot, with the lucky ones being offered either a pair of tickets or two separate ones if a pair isn’t available.

How to enter the ballot

The public ballot for 2026 officially got underway on Tuesday, September 2. You can toss your name into the hat HERE, which only takes a few minutes, and the deadline closes at 11.59pm on Tuesday, September 16.

Tennis aficionados eager to try their luck must sign up for a myWimbledon account to enter the public ballot. Ballot winners are chosen randomly, with no preference given to early entries.

How to secure Wimbledon tickets on the day

If you’re an early riser and join the queue at Wimbledon Park, you could snag same-day tickets. Many die-hard fans camp overnight or arrive at the crack of dawn to boost their chances of securing a spot on one of the show courts.

Queue tickets are typically available for the first 10 days of the Championships, with around 500 usually set aside for Centre Court, hundreds more for Court 1 and Court 2, and grounds passes up for grabs until the venue reaches full capacity. The allocation varies daily.

The tournament next year is set to take place from 29 June to 12 July.

How much do Wimbledon tickets cost?

Based on this year’s pricing, Centre Court seats start from £75 to £105 on the opening day of the tournament, which soars to between £240 and £315 on the final day. Tickets for Court 1 begin at £70 on the first day, rise to at least £165 by days eight and nine, and then drop back down to a starting price of £40 by the last day.

Grounds passes, which grant access to all courts except Centre, Court 1 and Court 2, are priced at £30 for the initial eight days of the tournament. They then reduce to £25 for the following three days, and £20 for the final three.

Ticket prices for the 2026 Championships are yet to be confirmed.

Important Wimbledon tickets Info

It is not possible to request tickets for specific days or courts, or specific seats as they are allocated via an automated selection process based on the best tickets available at the time.

Only one application per household, per email address and per myWimbledon account is accepted – and you can only apply for TWO tickets.

Your application will be invalid if you apply from a holiday home / business address / temporary student accommodation.
