Met Office issues yellow thunderstorm warning across huge swathe of England

The new Met Office yellow weather warning for thunderstorms covers a large area of southern England and East Anglia, as well as parts of Wales – see if your area is affected below

The Met Office has issued a thunderstorm warning covering a large area of England today.

An alert from the national forecaster reads: “Scattered heavy showers, some with thunder, are expected to develop later this morning and into the afternoon, before easing this evening. In the most active storms, hail, strong gusty winds, and lightning may be impactful. There is also a chance that a few spots could see frequent, heavy bursts of rain, leading to surface water flooding.”
