London’s ‘cheapest’ office lunch that’s ‘better than meal deals’

Lots of us want a quick and easy lunch during their work break that is wallet friendly – and now one man has shared where you can get a filling meal in central London for a ‘wild’ price

A man has claimed to have discovered the best value-for-money lunch in central London. Most of us take a break during work to grab a bite, whether we’re in an office, on site or working from home.

Many choose quick and easy options like supermarket meal deals or pack their own food from home, as nipping out to cafes or restaurants can be pricy – especially in the capital. However, TikTok user Nadeem Hussain has shared a hidden gem in London where you can get a bargain midday meal during your work break. He revealed that it’s called Ptooch and operates as a self-service buffet.

In a clip on the platform, the foodie explained diners can grab a box and fill it with whatever you like, including fresh salad, meat, and various hot side dishes.

Nadeem declared: “I’ve just found the most value for money lunch you can have. I am sick and tired of meal deals.

“I don’t have it myself anyway but I’m sick and tired of you people eating it so let me show you a really nice place to go get a good lunch for like £5 in central London.”

The Londoner included snippets of the food options at Ptooch in his TikTok video and shared that his strategy is to layer the box with salad at the bottom, some sides in the middle and then meat and other protein on top.

He added: “This is so worth it, this is so crazy, £5 for all of this food is wild.”

Nadeem headed back to his office with his takeaway box from the restaurant, located on Leather Lane in Holborn, and waited for his friend to join him for lunch.

The food lover eagerly told his friend about his discovery from Ptooch, pointing out that there are “no influencers talking about it.”

He revealed that he bought a large box for £5.50, but customers can also grab a smaller portion for £4.50.

Breaking down the food on offer, he said: “They have vegetable samosa(s), they have vegetable biryani, saffron rice, leg pieces of chicken.

“I got thigh pieces but they have leg pieces [and] thigh pieces, lamb kebab, peri peri fries, chana (chickpeas), so many things.”

Nadeem tucked into the peri peri chips and some small mushrooms and was delighted that they tasted “really nice.”

He also savoured some quinoa and chicken that was “very good.”

He remarked: “Literally each and every dish here was so tasty and so flavourful, but my favourites were the lamb kebabs with saffron rice, the pepper chicken and the baked potatoes.”

His TikTok clip has racked up thousands of views and likes and more than 50 comments.

One person wrote: “This is my go-to lunch meal when I am in the office.” Another replied: “Omg I love this place.”

A third chimed in: “Omg my mouth is watering just watching this video.” Others who hadn’t come across Ptooch previously thanked Nadeem for the “great recommendation” and asked about the location.
