The latest season of Bake Off kicked off this week, marking the unofficial start of autumn. With the skies turning cloudy and rainy and pumpkin spice suddenly being added to everything, it’s the perfect time to give home a cosy makeover, ensuring spaces are relaxing with a warm ambience.

Heal’s, the homeware and furniture brand, has just unveiled its autumn collection, featuring many items under £100. The retailer, which was established 215 years ago in 1810, is renowned for selling ‘trendsetting’ and ‘quality design’ interiors.

Their new range includes candles, cushions, tableware, mugs, and more. Our shopping writers have picked out some of their top picks to help brighten up grey days with a touch of luxury.

One standout item is the Heal’s 59 Cushion Olive and Cream cushion (£75). This cream and brown cushion measures 45x45cm and is made of soft velvet with a bold pattern.

Each cushion is handcrafted in India and filled with soft feathers for a luxurious feel. Similarly, the Boucle Cushion Cobalt, priced at £79, is ideal for adding ‘depth and texture to your space’, according to Heal’s, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

A Lo Studio scented candle (£49) has also been added to the new autumn collection. The ‘To The Sea’ scent features rock salt, mixed with a samphire base and top notes of citrus bergamot. Encased in a glass jar, the candle burns for 60 hours.

In line with the candle theme, Dunelm has just introduced a whole host of new collections for autumn, including a Multi-wick Smoked Candles is priced at £45. Each one has notes of black tea and bergamot.

Heal’s also stocks kitchen essentials, including this stylish Barton Croft Mug (£28). Offered in four shades (sunrise, milk, seaglass, and dijon), the textured stoneware mug makes an ideal companion for relaxing mornings or tranquil evenings. Its generous size also makes it perfect for hot chocolates.

Helsinki Task Lamp, £99

Heal’s has recently launched this Helsinki Task Lamp (£99), which comes in two finishes: silver and black. The desk lamp boasts a minimalist, mid-century aesthetic and features precise directional lighting that can be adjusted. Thanks to its moveable headlight, it would serve as both a practical and stylish office lamp.

For other desk lamp options, check out Next, where this Carson Touch Table Lamp costs £49. It comes in two finishes, chrome and brass, although it’s more compact than Heal’s Helsinki Task Lamp.

Shoppers tempted to zshush up their living space for autumn with Heal’s new season range can discover reviews and ratings of the retailer on Trustpilot. One shopper commented: “Fantastic customer service from Lani today who helped me purchase some cushions that were unavailable online. The sort of customer service you wish you received from all suppliers.”

Another customer purchased a lamp, noting: “I bought a floor-standing lamp, mid-century design based on brand reputation and pictures. It came on time; it looks as good as it did in the pictures and is reasonably easy to assemble. It cost much more than competitive products, but the quality and aesthetics seemed better.”

One customer praised the company, saying: “Interestingly, whilst waiting for delivery, a 20 per cent sale came on, and rather than returning and reordering it, customer service immediately refunded the 20 per cent, which came to me in days.”

However, another shopper had some criticisms about Heal’s delivery service: “Very nice showroom, but I was let down by the long online delivery lead time and lack of communication. Such a shame as I love browsing their stores.”

Another buyer chimed in with praise: “Absolutely brilliant customer service (thank you, Eugene) and the best delivery team ever. I am very happy with my new table and bench and wish I could only shop with Heal’s.”

A final purchaser concluded: “Great customer service – I ordered a couple of delicate light fittings. They arrived on time very well packaged but one was broken despite this – doesn’t look like this was any fault of Heal’s. I contacted them and they immediately shipped a replacement.”
