Arsenal’s players are heading back to London Colney following the international break and everyone in Mikel Arteta’s squad will be needed over the next few weeks

The international break is over and Arsenal fans can look forward to seeing their team back in action this weekend. The Emirates faithful don’t have to wait long either, as Mikel Arteta’s side host Nottingham Forest at 12:30pm on Saturday.

Arsenal will come up against former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, who was appointed by Forest on Tuesday after the controversial sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo. The Gunners will be looking to bounce back from a painful 1-0 defeat at Anfield which leaves them three points behind Premier League title rivals Liverpool.

It’s set to be a hectic few weeks for Arsenal, who have a midweek game scheduled for the next three weeks in various competitions. The Gunners begin their Champions League campaign away to Athletic Bilbao next Thursday before hosting Manchester City on the Sunday.

Arsenal then make the journey to Port Vale in the Carabao Cup before a trip to St James’ Park to face Newcastle four days later. It’s quickly back to European football by hosting Olympiakos before a home game against West Ham prior to the October internationals.

Here’s a round-up of the latest news from the Emirates.

New signing in spat with Liverpool rival

Piero Hincapie and Alexis Mac Allister were involved in a heated exchange during their nations’ World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, as the rivalry between Arsenal and Liverpool was stoked. Hincapie, 23, is yet to make his debut for Arsenal after joining on transfer deadline day in a season-long loan deal which includes an option to buy for £45million.

The defender immediately flew to South America for the conclusion of Ecuador’s successful World Cup qualifying campaign, where they met Argentina in their final game. Late in the match, Hincapie was confronted by Liverpool midfielder Mac Allister following a hefty challenge on Franco Mastantuono.

Madueke told he’s better than Saka

Noni Madueke has been told that he’s a better player than Arsenal team-mate Bukayo Saka. On Tuesday, 23-year-old Madueke scored his first goal for England, as the Three Lions thrashed Serbia 5-0 in Belgrade.

The winger was given game time in the absence of Saka, who was ruled out of England’s double-header through injury. But Madueke shouldn’t just be playing instead of Saka when he’s injured, according to ex-Manchester United defender Paul Parker.

“With the way he plays, I actually think he’s better than Bukayo Saka,” Parker told WhichBookie. “Saka doesn’t go on the outside, he doesn’t have a great change of pace and he doesn’t frighten defenders. Madueke does strike that fear into defenders because he wants to run at players and go past them.”

Odegaard shines in historic win

Martin Odegaard captained Norway to an historic 11-1 victory over Moldova on Tuesday, chipping in with one goal and two assists. Odegaard’s nation boosted their hopes of qualifying for their first World Cup since 1998 by going six points clear at the top of Group I and significantly improving their goal difference.

The Arsenal star was instrumental in Norway’s huge win. Odegaard, 26, created the most chances with seven, won the most fouls (three), and the most duels (nine).
