Most people like to treat themselves and maybe a loved one to a stay at a nice hotel now and again. However, how much would you be willing to splash out on it?

One man has shared how she spent £2,500 for one night at what he called ‘London’s most expensive hotel’ – and he’s shared a review to give his take on whether it was worth it. Influencer Carmie Sellitto, known as @touchdalight on Instagram, is often seen reviewing luxury products on his Instagram page, which boasts 464,000 followers. In one of his latest reels, he headed to The Ritz London hotel.

The 5-star establishment, based in Piccadilly in London, is a symbol of high society and luxury and is one of the world’s most prestigious and best known hotels.

Carmie decided to head there and give his take on a room so his followers could get an insight into the iconic venues.

The reel began with Carmie stood outside the hotel, as he told viewers in a voiceover that he was “staying in the most expensive hotel in London”.

He said: “This is the Ritz hotel and this is actually known for being one of the most luxurious hotels in the world and I’m staying here tonight,” as he gave viewers a look inside the hotel.

Heading to where he was staying, he added: “I spent £2,500 a night for this room. Let me show you around.

“As soon as I walked into this room, it just felt so expensive. Like this place was pristine.”

Carmie then showed viewers around the room as he held up a fruit plate which was included. He also tried out a chair that he speculated was “worth around £5,000”. He told viewers: “I had to sit on it and honestly it was the most comfiest chair I’ve ever sat on.”

The influencer also pointed out that everything in the room had the hotel’s branding on it, from the pillowcases to the bedsheets and even the tissue box.

Carmie then showed off the view out of his window, which looked out over Green Park. He said the concierge who showed him to his room said it had the “best view in the whole hotel”.

Next, he headed into the bathroom, calling it ‘one of the nicest he’s ever been in’. He said: “Everything about it just felt crazy.”

He also said the bathroom was stocked with “everything you need”, from body wash, to body lotion and shampoo, and he said you’re allowed to keep all the products.

Carmie admitted the toilet was “average”, however he added it “was just a toilet”.

He asked viewers: “What do you think? Would you spend £2,500 a night to stay here?”

The post racked up thousands of likes as his fans had their say on the room.

Many thought the room was worth it, as one person wrote: “It’s the best. And the staff are extraordinary” While another agreed: “Absolutely wonderful hotel! Hats off!”

A third chimed in: “It looks fabulous and I love that you felt so welcomed. What a stunning place to stay, definitely an ‘I wish’ on my bucket list.”

While a fourth added: “Gorgeous. I love that hotel but I’m definitely on a Premier Inn budget. (Shower is good though).”

Despite many positive reactions, some people thought the place could do with a renovation. One person said: “It’s so old now, needs a revamp,” while another agreed: “It’s so dated.”

Others also weren’t that impressed with the bathroom, as one person wrote: “Is it me or the bathroom tiles look so unmatched? Stunning hotel other than that, not like I would ever be able to book it so thank you for showing it to us.”

Another added: “The bathroom is not impressive, especially compared to the ones in the US.”

Is the Ritz actually London’s most expensive hotel?

The Ritz London is not necessarily London’s most expensive hotel, however it is one of the city’s most luxurious and iconic venues with prices for suites excesding £8,000 per night.

Other luxury hotels, such as Claridge’s and The Connaught have similar or even higher price points and cater to the same affluent clintbase, with suites potentially costing even more.

While the most expensive suites can set you back a lot , the base room prices at the Ritz are around £725 to £840 per night, which is still costly but not the most expensive in London.

The Royal Suite at The Lanesborough in London is frequently named as the most expensive hotel room in the UK, costing around £27,000 per night. It features seven bedrooms, a 24/7 butler, and access to a Rolls-Royce Phantom to chauffeur you around during your stay.

The suite is a Regency-style hotel with luxury embellishments like 24-carat gold leaf accents, chandeliers, and a fully equipped living space.
