Russian president Vladimir Putin’s leading propagandist has threatened British RAF pilots with death if they are sent to protect Poland from Russian provocation.

Chief attack dog Vladimir Solovyov also falsely told Russians that France may be sending nuclear missiles to Poland with President Emmanuel Macron’s deployment of Rafale fighters. Western warplanes have been sent to protect Poland as part of NATO after Putin encroached the country’s airspace with 23 drones last week.

He told TV viewers: “The British want to die, so they also want [like the French] to take a walk over the skies of Poland. RAF fighters will patrol the skies over Poland as part of NATO’s Eastern Sentry mission.

“Typhoons will begin flying here in the coming days. Don’t run into the [French] Rafale [fighters]. Lord, where are we going to bury you all?”

Stirring up fear over the Western deployment, he said: “The French Rafale fighters deployed to Poland are capable of carrying nuclear weapons,” but admitted they “arrived without nuclear weapons, at least that is what the photographs indicate”. Mr Solovyov added: “Well, Paris, wait for the nuclear dawn. This is a serious escalation. We must consider these planes, each of their takeoffs for us is the beginning of a nuclear war.”

The threats from Kremlin-controlled TV station came after Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it was clear the West was at war with Moscow. He said: “NATO is at war with Russia. This is obvious and requires no further proof. NATO is de facto involved in this war.”

Meanwhile, Russia staged more hellish strikes on Ukraine – and hit civilians once again. In Zaporizhzhia a man, 41, was killed and 13 wounded including a four-year-old child as massive fires raged. The Kyiv region was also hit with Putin’s brutal forces launching a follow-up strike as rescuers were working at a shopping complex.

In Sumy region, Russia attacked a gas distribution station with drones. Ukrainian drones attacked Putin’s favourite Black Sea resort Sochi and also Rostov region.

Ukraine also confirmed they had eight days ago struck Russian command posts in occupied Donetsk which had been visited by Putin’s defence minister Andrey Belousov.

A statement said: “Shortly after his visit, the indicated locations of the occupation army command were successfully hit. Strikes on these military targets significantly disrupt the control of units and subdivisions of the Russian Armed Forces.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to deliver targeted strikes on the aggressor’s facilities in order to force the Russian Federation to stop the war of aggression.”
