As President Donald Trump arrives in Windsor for his state visit, the Mirror takes a look at Sarah Ferguson’s swish night on the town with POTUS’s UK special envoy
Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, enjoyed a fun night on the town – with none other than President Donald Trump’s UK special envoy, Mark Burnett.
This, of course, comes as President Trump and his wife, Melania, today arrive in the UK for a state visit, where he has met with King Charles and other senior royals in Windsor.
The Duchess, best known to fans as Fergie, would appear to be one step ahead of this week’s diplomatic relations, having last week danced the night away with Burnett – aka, the producer of President Trump’s TV show, The Apprentice.
It could be argued that Burnett’s role in catapulting President Trump to reality TV stardom ultimately paved the way to his unexpected presidency, making him a formidable force to be reckoned with.

On the evening of Thursday, September 11, the 65-year-old mum-of-two was spotted enjoying herself at The Rex Rooms, situated on Chelsea’s stylish King’s Road. A favourite among upper-crust clubbers, The Rex Rooms is the brainchild of designer and nightlife innovator Marc Jacques Burton, and offers a lounge and private room.
As per the luxury nightspot’s official website: “Behind its secret door, The King’s 1942 Room offers an intimate escape for those seeking privacy, while the main lounge comes alive with energy, drawing London’s creatives, tastemakers, and rebels into its orbit.
“Both spaces pay homage to Surrealism, with sinuous curves and avant-garde textures shaping a dreamlike, immersive interior.”
It’s therefore unsurprising that fun-loving royalty and TV royalty alike would make a beeline for this opulent location. The Daily Mail’s columnist Richard Eden was the first to report Fergie out letting loose here with pals, including Burnett, quoting a fellow clubber as saying: “We were quite surprised to see her there. But it’s great that she still enjoys a night out. There shouldn’t be any maximum age limit on clubbing.”
In an interesting royal connection, former paratrooper Burnett, now 64, previously served alongside Fergie’s ex husband Prince Andrew during the Falklands War.
Of course, it will come as no surprise to Fergie fans that the Duchess enjoys a night of clubbing. The grandmother has previously opened up about some of her wilder moments out partying, including the time she and her late sister in law, Princess Diana, got themselves arrested during her hen night back in 1986.
Sharing the story on The Kelly Clarkson Show back in 2023, Fergie explained that she and her pals dressed up as police officers and were refused service at a club on account of their costumes. It was then that the police arrested them for impersonating members of the force.
Recalling their cheeky antics, Fergie revealed: “It was extraordinary. We went to a nightclub. Because, of course, you go to a nightclub with the Princess of Wales. I was just still Fergie, wasn’t married yet.
“We went into this nightclub. She [Diana] was very good at her costume. Anyway, so we sat down, and this waiter came up to us and said, ‘Excuse me, this is a member’s club and it’s for fun. We don’t serve police officers here’. Looking straight at us!”
She continued: “We were arrested by Parks Police. So we go in the back of the van, and she [Diana] had put her engagement ring around the other way, and I’d put mine around the other way.
“We were sitting in there and she looked around, saw smoky bacon-flavoured crisps and started taking them and eating them. The policeman in the front said, ‘You can’t do that!’ And then eventually they realised that it was, you know, Diana… and me.”
