Tesco shoppers gobsmacked after spotting glaring spelling mistake on popular baby outfit

A mum was left horrified when she was shopping at Tesco and almost bought her little one an adorable Halloween-themed two-piece before she realised a glaring error

Buying seasonal outfits for your little ones makes them look absolutely adorable. That’s why when one woman was shopping in Tesco, she couldn’t help but be besotted by a Halloween-themed two-piece complete with a jumper and matching joggers, featuring a sweet (not spooky!) pumpkin motif. However, she quickly realised that there was a glaring error with the back print of the jumper.

Rebecca, who posts on TikTok as @rebeccaanicole_x, said that it was the “cutest outfit,” so she was gutted to spot the “mistake” on the top. She captioned it: “As if! I didn’t even notice. If anyone’s picked this up, has yours got this mistake?!”

On the front of the jumper, there was a tiny pumpkin with a face, and it read “little pumpkin”.

So far, so good, and no spelling mistakes. But when Rebecca turned the jumper around, the spelling error took everyone’s mind off how adorable it was.

It read: “Best lttle pumpkin picker”. That’s right; it was missing an ‘i’ in little.

And while many people’s eyes would just skim over this, especially because it’s so darn cute, once you’ve seen it, it’s impossible to unsee it.

Someone who worked in Tesco shared in the comments that “they are all wrong,” claiming it had “been removed from sale”.

Another woman said that she “bought one this morning” and “didn’t realise”.

The Tesco worker replied: “I didn’t notice either and I put them out. Only lasted about an hour and they were centrally removed”.

“I work for F&F and had to remove all these today,” a TikTok user added, clarifying that the two piece is no longer available to buy due to the error.

In the comments, people shared that it took them an “embarrassingly long time” to figure out what the issue was with the outfit.

Loads of other mums said they were going to “try and return it” after the error had become clear to them.

Another mum said that she’d realised that a baby sleep suit she’d bought for her little one read “sleppy Pooh” instead of “sleepy”.

Somebody else accused Tesco of making another error with their clothing earlier in the year, this time, with a French translation.

She said they’d written “bon appétite” instead of “bon appétit”.

“I thought the mistake was that on the front, the kid is the pumpkin… and on the back, the kid is a pumpkin picker,” another joked.

Others said that they’d “still buy it” because of the time it took them to “notice,” so they figured that if their child was walking past them quickly, people wouldn’t be able to spy the error.

When approached for comment, a Tesco spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for this error and have removed this product from sale. Customers who would like to can return it for a full refund.”
