Jude Law’s one condition for The Holiday sequel after TV series announcement

By staff18 September 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Jude Law has spoken out about the upcoming TV series based on The Holiday, admitting he was unaware of the project and has no plans to reprise his role as Graham

Jude Law would only consider returning to his role in The Holiday if director Nancy Meyers gets involved. Just like Meyers, the 52 year old star had no clue about a fresh Apple TV+ limited series based on the 2006 romantic comedy Christmas favourite, and confesses he has zero intentions of coming back as Graham.

Speaking to Craig Melvin on the Today show, he revealed: “You know, I heard about it. I know nothing about it. Nothing, other than I don’t think I’m in it. I don’t know.

“I think Nancy wrote to me and said, ‘Have you heard about this?’ Literally.”

Law remains clueless about whether his character will feature in the series. When pressed about potentially reprising the role, he declared: “Nancy Meyers would have to be involved. She was the magic that brought all that together.”

The upcoming series will be penned and executive produced by Krissie Ducker alongside Rob Delaney. Cast information remains under wraps for now.

Meyers insisted she was kept in the dark about the series, posting on her Instagram Stories: “News to me. Imagine my surprise when I opened Instagram and this was the first post I saw.”

The cherished film follows two broken-hearted women, Amanda [Cameron Diaz] and Iris [Kate Winslet], who exchange homes and lifestyles before finding romance with Graham and Miles [Jack Black], respectively.

Meyers has previously shot down sequel speculation and recently confessed she never anticipated the film would become an enduring Christmas favourite. The filmmaker confessed on the Hollywood Gold podcast: “I never thought it would be, you know, a movie that you watched during the holidays…. Didn’t think of it that way.

“I just really wanted to tell the story about these people. I set it at Christmas because that can be lonely. As I noted to myself last night while I was watching, they’re all damaged.”

Jude is currently starring in a new Netflix crime thriller that has just dropped. It is set amid the backdrop of New York’s underworld.

The British actor stars in Black Rabbit. Other involved in the production include Jason Bateman, known for his roles in Ozark and Arrested Development.

The plotline follows the owner of the hottest restaurant in New York who allows his troubled brother to return to the family business. During this time, he opens the door to old traumas and new dangers that threaten to bring down everything they’ve built.

According to website Netflix Junkies, the production for Black Rabbit has been filmed on location in New York. It says it helps give the show a much more grounded feel instead of using footage that was purely produced on a sound stage.

Places of interest include the streets around Coney Island, Manhattan and Brooklyn. Bateman was previously pictured in full costume at one point, which led to fans asking many questions as he looked near unrecognisable from previous roles.
