The Life of a Showgirl is due to be released by Taylor Swift next month and she’s now announced that it will be celebrated with a theatrical release party shown in cinemas
The new album from Taylor Swift will be celebrated with a theatrical release party next month, it’s been announced. The singer-songwriter has revealed that it include the premiere of her upcoming single, the Fate of Ophelia.
Taylor, 35, is preparing to release her twelfth studio album, Life of a Showgirl. She’s now announced that she will mark the launch with an 89-minute theatrical experience for fans in countries including the US and the UK between October 3, the album’s release date, and October 5.
The special screenings will include the world premiere of the music video The Fate of Ophelia, along with behind-the-scenes footage from the music video shoot. It will also include brand new lyric videos and Taylor’s never-before-seen personal reflections on songs from her new album, as reported by Bang Showbiz.

Taylor shared the information on Instagram, writing: “I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirée, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas! You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, along with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut-by-cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl.
“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged. Showtimes may vary, so check your local listings. Tickets are limited and available at releasepartyofashowgirl.com.”
Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will be shown in all 540 AMC locations in the US. It will also play in as many as 100 additional countries. Initially, it will be shown in countries including Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
AMC Theatres Distribution has said that tickets for showtimes in those 18 countries will go on sale on Tuesday. It’s been announced today that tickets are on sale already at theatres in the US.
Other international territories are expected to play the experience at a later weekend date in October. AMC has said that the approximately 89-minute show is scheduled to play for “one weekend only” from October 3 to 5 in the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK & Ireland, and across Europe.
This is the second collaboration between Taylor and AMC Theatres Distribution, following Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. The film is said to have grossed more than $261 million at the global box office and become the highest-grossing concert film of all time.
Taylor announced the Life of a Showgirl last month and revealed that she reunited with producers Max Martin and Karl Schuster, known as Shellback, for it. They are credited with previously co-producing albums like Red, and co-wrote songs such as We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
Speaking about the album on the New Heights podcast, she said at the time: “It’s a record I made with my mentor, Max Martin, and Shellback. The three of us have made some of my favourite songs that I’ve ever done before.”
Taylor added: “We’ve never actually made an album before where it’s just the three of us. There’s no other collaborators. It’s just the three of us making a focused album where … I mean it felt like catching lightning in a bottle, honestly.”
