This Morning’s Amir Khan says ‘I can’t stay silent’ as he is backed by fans

This Morning’s Dr Amir Khan has been backed by fans after speaking out

Dr Amir Khan has garnered widespread backing after speaking candidly about an issue he confessed he ‘thinks about every day’. The beloved TV doctor turned to social media to make his voice heard.

He was addressing women’s health – particularly those enduring hardship in conflict zones or living as refugees. He spotlighted numerous health obstacles encountered by women facing extraordinarily difficult situations across the globe.

He explained he ‘advocates for women’s health’ because ‘these women don’t stop being women in war. Their bodies don’t pause, their cycles, their pain, their suffering, even when the world around them is collapsing’.

“I always say I advocate for women and women’s health,” he declared in the heartfelt video, featuring the caption ‘something I think about every day’.

He went on: “And I really do believe that, which is why I can’t stay silent on this issue. In every war, every genocide, every refugee crisis, whether it’s Gaza, Sudan, or the Congo, women suffer the most. Not just from bombs and bullets, but in the everyday realities we rarely talk about.

“Imagine getting your period in a refugee camp with no sanitary pads. Women are forced to use rags, scraps of cloth, even newspaper. No privacy, no clean water, and with that can come infection, shame, and indignity. Imagine you’re a young girl getting your period for the first time. Your family gone, taken by bombs, nobody to help you.

“Now imagine You’re one of the millions of women living with painful conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, or adenomyosis. Conditions that cause crippling pain, heavy bleeding, exhaustion. And still you have to walk for miles to find safety. Still you have to look after your children. Still you have to carry on.

“These women don’t stop being women in war. Their bodies don’t pause, their cycles, their pain, their suffering, even when the world around them is collapsing. When we talk about war, we must also talk about women, about dignity, about health, about the unseen battles they fight every single day. Because if we ignore these struggles, we ignore half of them and their story.

“So yes, I advocate for women’s health. And that means speaking up for women in war zones too. Women everywhere. Their pain, their resilience, their humanity, it can’t be forgotten. And together we must all raise our voices to end the violence.”

The doctor received tremendous support from her social media followers. One supporter commented: “Amir… so many people won’t have given this a second thought.. you speak for so many of us… it’s heartbreaking the suffering that women in war are experiencing right now..thank you.”

Another responded: “Thank you for being a powerful voice for all women,” whilst a third simply declared: “Brilliantly said.

“I often think of this too. I can’t bear to think how these poor women are suffering. It’s heartbreaking. Thank you Amir for highlighting,” said another. Another commented: “Many people don’t think about this, it is heartbreaking the huge suffering that so many women in war experience. Thank you for all you do, and we all need to listen and help where we can.”
