TikToker urges Aldi shoppers to book October 9 off work due to ‘rumours’

People have been waiting for this offer to make its grand return to shops across the UK

12:57, 25 Sep 2025Updated 12:59, 25 Sep 2025

Savvy Aldi shoppers and parents believe they’ve worked out exactly when the ‘most anticipated offer of the year’ is coming back to stores – and if predictions are right, it’s not too far away. In previous years, the supermarket’s Wooden Toy Event has been one of Aldi’s most popular special deals in the lead-up to Christmas.

Shoppers tend to take full advantage of the affordable selection and get their hands on toys, which can be stashed away in time for the big day in December. The range is usually confirmed ahead of time, allowing people to plan what they want to secure in stores.

At the time of writing, Aldi has yet to officially confirm the event date. However, that hasn’t stopped savvy mums and dads from trying to work out when the supermarket’s sale will take place based on rumours and online predictions. Aldi has been approached for comment.

Emily, who goes by the username @thespeechmummy on TikTok, believes that she’s cracked when shoppers should prepare for the major sale. She urged other people wanting to get involved in the sale, which typically sees the supermarket swamped after people queue up outside from 6am, to ask their bosses about booking October 9 off work to make the most of the sale – this is the same day Lidl has today (Sept 25) announced when its Wooden Toy Sale will start.

In her theory, she believes that a popular Aldi worker turned influencer (@Dylanreviews), who usually shows the internet what specials to expect in the infamous middle aisle, could be the key clue. Emily said: “Get ready to book your annual leave because I have done the research for the Aldi Wooden Toy Event.” However, it is important to keep in mind that Aldi hasn’t confirmed any dates just yet.

Using Dylan’s previous content from 2024, Emily believes that Aldi’s Wooden Toy Event lands in store not long after the supermarket’s big Christmas showcase in London – and she suspected that he’d showcase it at the festive event in early October. In her video, posted on September 17, the mum-of-one also predicted that the toys could arrive in shops days later – just as they did in 2024 – and offered up her “best guess” of October 9.

The TikTok influencer has since confirmed he’ll be showing off the range, writing on his own social media: “I’ve got news about the Aldi Wooden Toy Event. I will be showcasing it on the 7th of October when I go to London for the Aldi Christmas Showcase. I cannot wait to show you all what is coming to stores.”

Last year, the toy sale was a major hit with shoppers who had over 50 products to pick from for little ones. Prices started from just £2.99 with the star attractions being the Wooden Kitchen, Wooden Climbing Slide and Wooden Dolls House.

More videos have since been uploaded to social media, claiming to have seen the in-store and digital leaflet which promotes all of the items coming in the event. It carries a huge date across the top for the ‘better than ever’ event, which is October 9.

The booklet also contains a calendar of upcoming events that parents (or those buying for young children) will want to mark on their calendars. Future events include a spotlight on kids’ favourite Bluey, as well as October and November events focusing on ‘big brand’ toys and Disney.
