Star Trek icon William Shatner breaks silence with three-word health update

By staff26 September 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Star Trek actor William Shatner has updated fans on his health after he was rushed to hospital

William Shatner has spoken out after it was reported the 94 year old was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday.

The Hollywood legend, 94, is thought to have experienced a medical emergency involving his blood sugar levels. The actor reportedly called emergency services who dashed to his property in Los Angeles yesterday, and paramedics took him to hospital.

A day later, William took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to tell fans “I’m perfectly fine.” The Hollywood star, who has already been met with an outpouring of online support since the health scare, wrote, “I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine.”

Along with the update, the actor included a photo of himself from the Canadian television series Murdoch Mysteries ‘Marked Twain. ‘ It comes after harrowing details of Elvis’ autopsy were revealed following his death at the end of 4 MONTHS of constipation.

Under photo his line read, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!” This is a famous quote from American author Mark Twain which was his response after a newspaper report in 1897 claimed that he was dead or gravely ill, reports the Mirror US.

This update comes as the beloved actor was rushed to the hospital after experiencing a sudden problem related to his blood sugar at his Los Angeles residence. Paramedics transported him in an ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was examined and treated.

Whilst he didn’t elaborate fully on his health troubles, “blood sugar issues” could indicate elevated blood sugar (hyperglycaemia) or reduced blood sugar (hypoglycaemia). Both conditions stem from the body’s failure to utilise or generate sufficient insulin for managing blood glucose levels.

Beneath William’s post, countless admirers sent their best wishes and voiced their relief at the encouraging health update. One follower remarked: “Thank you Captain. The crew was worried.” Another supporter noted: “Glad you’re okay, Bill. I’ve a good mind to place a bet on you reaching at least 100 years-old!”.

A third penned: “I didn’t believe them. It’s not yet time for you to go to that great big Academy Awards ceremony in the sky or whatever the hell awaits any of us.”

Someone else contributed: “As my Italian ancestors might say, ‘Cent’anni!’ Happy to hear you are perfectly fine – but then I’ve always felt that was a great way to describe you all the time – perfectly fine!”.

Whilst William maintains his health remains sound, he’s endured various medical challenges throughout the years, including previously fighting stage 4 melanoma, a severe type of skin cancer.

He subsequently conquered the disease through immunotherapy treatment, which he revealed in 2024.

He’s also previously disclosed living with tinnitus – a buzzing in the ears – for more than 30 years after a deafening on-set blast during Star Trek production. This follows a tragic incident where a zookeeper was mauled by a lion for 15 minutes, with staff revealing why no one intervened.
