Domino’s drops ‘piping hot’ 1985-inspired vintage merch – and you’ll want it all

Domino’s is celebrating 40 years in the UK with a limited-edition merch collection straight out of the 80s inspired by its original delivery uniforms from back in the day

Domino’s is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the UK with a limited-edition merch collection that harks back to the 80s, inspired by its original delivery uniforms. The pizza giant has teamed up with UK vintage lifestyle brand Unified Goods to launch the ‘Hot Since ’85’ nostalgic capsule collection, which features both rare and inspired garments from 1985.

The hot new range features a retro bomber jacket, a bespoke screen-printed T-shirt emblazoned with ‘Hot Since ’85’, as well as accessories like car bumper stickers, caps and socks, all adorned with the slogan ‘one call does it all’, so there’s something for everyone.

These unique pieces are ready to be snapped up as they go on sale today. The collection also makes an appearance in Domino’s new throwback film, which takes inspiration from 80s video games and cult classic films.

The video is sure to stir up feelings of nostalgia for anyone who’s ordered a hot pizza from the company over the past four decades. Melanie Howe, the brand’s chief nostalgia officer, said: “This year is a significant milestone for us, marking 40 years since Domino’s powered up its first oven in the UK in 1985.

“So, it felt right to honour being ‘hot since ’85’ with a piping hot drop that’s bold, fun, and perfectly us.”

Drawing on the original 1980s uniforms, the range revisits the style of the brand, where polo shirts were topped with light blue around the shoulders and neck, a slim white stripe across the chest and the rest of the shirt being a vibrant red.

Domino’s initially arrived in the UK in 1985, with its debut outlet launching in Luton, before reaching its 100th branch in 1995. The firm was originally established 25 years earlier in Michigan by brothers Tom and James Monaghan, who initially called the business “DomiNicks”, before rebranding to Domino’s in 1965.

Spearheading the home delivery concept, the business revolutionised pizza ordering and rapidly built a reputation for flavour, quality, speed and service. Now, it’s expanded into a global giant with more than 1,300 outlets across the UK and Ireland.

All products will be available on unifiedgoods.com until Thursday 9th October.
