As Nando’s have just released a brand new list of of menu options and flavours, Mirror writer Niamh Kirk decided to try out the new viral PERi-Mac Wrap to see if it was worth the fuss
It’s not often Nando’s switches up the menu – but the popular chain has just launched a brand new twist on the classic chicken options.
The popular restaurant is known for chicken, as it’s what it does best, and it’s just gone to the next level. Nando’s has launched the already viral PERi-Mac Wrap, which features the iconic grilled chicken breast, packed alongside a hearty serving of mac and cheese, all in a wrap with lettuce and PERi-tamer sauce with a nice little sprinkling of cheese too.
While it’s more of a supersized wrap concoction you’d expect to see from a restaurant in America, Nando’s have given Brits the ultimate cosy season meal – and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I can’t say I can picture what mac and cheese would be like in a wrap but I was excited to try.

With many avid foodies on social media calling the wrap a “dream”, it certaintly was a fully jam packed wrap, that will definitely fill you up. Nando’s already offer a wrap menu item, but it’s safe to say this new wrap takes it to the next level.
From first glance I already knew I wasn’t going to be able to finish it, and I don’t think I even managed half.
The flavours from the chicken were good, and gave that iconic Nando’s taste, alongside the PERi-Tamer sauce, and then you get the creaminess of the mac and cheese alongside it.
While it tasted good, it was seriously filling and very carb heavy. Having pasta in a wrap isn’t my usual go-to, so it’s definitely made for those with a seriously empty belly. I liked all of the flavours together, but I struggled to eat it all in a wrap, however it was still tasty.
One of the big stand outs for me though were the wings with the brand new sauce. It’s good news for spice fans, the sauce is inspired by this year’s popular brown sugar flavour trend, Sweet Heat arrives on the PERi-Ometer.
Hot on the tongue, but packing a sweet aftertaste, it’s very tasty. Other new additions to the menu include the Sol Bowl, featuring a generous portion of Spicy Rice with Coleslaw, Charred Corn, Herby Pickles and leafy greens.
As well as the Hearty Bowl, which includes Hearty Grains with Rainbow Slaw, Charred Corn, Herby Pickles and leafy greens. Both of these new bowls come with either three Wings, Pulled Chicken, Halloumi Sticks or PERi-plant strips.
For sides, there is the Hearty Grains side – warm mixed grains with green chickpeas, butternut squash and dried cranberries, tossed in a lemon oil dressing and drizzled with creamy dressing. And also the Pickle Mix, a fan fave Herby Pickles with pickled cauliflower.
The new menu items are now available in all UK and Ireland restaurants.
