An optical illusion has left people scratching their heads as they try to spot a cat hiding in plain sight in an image of a woman sweeping the floor – but can you see it?
Can you spot the cat hiding in this seemingly simple cartoon? While the challenge may seem easy at first glance, it’s actually tougher than you’d expect.
The image, posted on Reddit’s r/opticalillusions forum, shows a red-haired woman positioned centrally whilst holding a brush. It also features a vibrant curtain in the upper right corner, a door to her left, and a bucket positioned on her right side. But what about the mysterious moggy?
The post asks: “Can you spot the cat in this optical illusion?” So set a timer – and see if you can identify the sneaky feline in less than 10 seconds.

Solution
Following long examinations of the photograph, many users confessed to giving up as they were unable to locate the feline anywhere.
Posters eventually provided the solution, explaining that viewers must rotate their device clockwise to reveal it.
One Redditor commented: “Hint: turn your screen clockwise 90 degrees.”
Another contributor explained: “Tilt your phone to the right, the cat is a silhouette on the wall, formed by the lady’s arms and the tapestry.”
A third person said: “Looking at the photo, next to the lady’s ear on the right-hand side and tilt your phone 90 degrees to the right.”
Someone else remarked: “Once you see it, you can’t not see it.” While another noted: “It’s in the negative space between the arm and the curtain.”
