Remote workers are obsessed with these warm-up slippers that are a must-have for the autumn

As the UK weather takes a chilly turn, households are bracing for higher heating costs. Today, on October 1, Ofgem announced a 2% increase in its energy price cap.

This rise will push the average household energy bill to approximately £1,755 a year for direct debit customers, up from the previous annual cost of £1,720.

With Brits across the nation seeking to reduce their heating usage, attention is shifting toward more affordable home heating solutions, particularly for remote workers who spend most of their days at home.

Amazon shoppers may have found just the ticket with a pair of affordable heat-up slippers that offer the perfect solution to keep your feet warm while you work, without needing to turn the heating on.

Made of soft plush outer cover and thick fleece lining, filled with PP cotton, these Healifty USB Electric Heating Slippers wrap your feet comfortably in warmth and a fluffy fleece material. But they don’t stop there; these slippers promote a warm and soothing feeling as they heat up from the sole, ensuring your feet are spared from the chill this autumn and winter.

Simply connect the slippers to the included USB charging cable, then insert the USB cable into one of your computer’s USB ports or an available USB port. The slippers will start radiating instant heat, keeping your feet warm all day.

Retailing for £25.29, these slippers are suitable for sizes UK 5 to 10 and are ideal for men or women.

The potential downside of these slippers is that they are wired, meaning you can’t keep them on while walking around your home. If you’re looking for a heat-up solution that can work while you’re sitting at your desk or on the go, Amazon also offers these Heated Slippers for the steeper price of £69.99.

Elsewhere, you can find these Snug Toes Women’s Heated Slippers, which currently sell for £30.50 at Not On The High Street. Alternatively, head over to Wowcher, where you can find these Designer-Inspired Electric Heating Warm Boots for £22.99, down from £49.99.

Meanwhile, the Amazon pair have amassed plenty of 5-star reviews, with one happy customer raving: “These shoes are super comfortable, practical, and keep my feet warm. When working on the laptop, simply plug them in with the USB port, and they will quickly warm up to the perfect temperature. The cable is long enough, and when not in use, the connections can be safely kept inside the slippers (with a zip). The heating is only at the bottom, but there is a thick layer of insulation at the top.”

Another buyer beams: “Delighted! These are perfect for keeping my feet warm when I am working at my desk. Soft, cosy and roomy. You can’t walk around in them, but I keep them under my desk ready to plug in. There are part of my office furniture. Brilliant.”

And a third chimes in: “I work from home and these slippers are making such a difference- my feet are cold all the time otherwise. They need to remain plugged into USB, so I use iPhone charger plug- and keep them plugged into the extension lean with my laptop. They are as ugly as they look in the picture, but I could not care less! Also the temperature is just pleasant- they don’t get too hot. Definitely recommend, even just for the evening time watching tele- they will keep your feet warm.”
