A “charming” village close to Wolverhampton has been crowned the “finest place to live” in the Black Country.
Tettenhall has secured second place in the West Midlands, according to lifestyle website Muddy Stilettos, which releases an annual ranking of Britain’s top residential areas, judged on property values, educational facilities, local events, dining and shopping options, and transport links.
A representative from Muddy Stilettos commented to Birmingham Live: “This quaint village outside Wolverhampton is home to some pretty coloured Victorian villas and terraced houses along with a historic clock tower.
“There’s a thriving, bustling high street, community outdoor pool and plenty of great school options nearby.”
The village heart features charming independent retailers including The Decorium boutique, Hugs and Kisses gifts, Baked in Tettenhall bakery and Robinsons deli.
Neighbourhood gem Gluttons for Nourishment serves as the perfect spot for morning coffee and pastries.
Whilst Italian establishments Fiume or Atelier Del Cibo offer evening dining, and Seats bistro has earned recognition for its Sunday lunches.
Moreover, the area houses two exceptional schools and is the location of Tettenhall College.
