The audience full of young families screamed in terror as the entertainer’s leg tangled in the rope and he plunged to the flood at the Magic Time Circus in Mexico on Sunday
The terrifying moment a circus trapeze artist plunges more than 30 feet to the ground after his leg gets caught in the rope was caught on camera by a member of the shocked audience.
The accident happened during a chaotic Magic Time Circus performance in Tizayuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, on Sunday. A video shows the acrobat swinging from a piece of suspended fabric as he slowly gains momentum.
As the entertainer prepares for the climax to his performance, he suddenly loses his grip and falls 10 meters to the ground, leaving the crowd gasping. There was no visible safety net under him when he plunged to the ground.

The audience, including many families with children, screamed in panic as he landed with a loud thud. Emergency services arrived within minutes, and paramedics gave first aid before taking the injured performer to a nearby hospital.
Local authorities said his condition was serious but that he had been stabilised after receiving emergency treatment. Witnesses said the artist appeared to lose control while hanging by his legs during a manoeuvre and slipped, falling straight down.
One attendee said everything seemed normal until they heard cries of alarm and saw people running toward the fallen acrobat. Following the incident, performances at the Magic Time Circus were suspended while investigators examined whether safety measures had been followed, as reported by the DailyGoat.
Police cordoned off the area and handed the case to the State Attorney General’s Office for inspection. It was the first night of performances for the Magic Time Circus in Tizayuca, which had recently set up its tent near a local shopping centre.
The incident came less than two weeks after a circus acrobat fell to her death in front of horrified families in a stunned audience. Marina B died after performing the iconic trapeze stunt in Bautzen, east Germany. More than 80 people in the crowd watched on in terror as the woman plummeted to the ground.
Parents covered their children’s eyes inside the tent following the horror fall during the Spanish acrobat’s solo performance. She died on the spot, police announced. Marina B, who was from Mallorca and travelled around the world with the circus, was proud of her profession, and her tragic final Instagram post was an image of herself in full flight. She captioned the post: “Up here, I work best.”
She said previously: “For me, every show is an opportunity to share my passion for what I do. I believe that art has the power to create unforgettable moments.” Paul Busch Circus is yet to release a statement following the tragedy.
“Trained experts from the crisis intervention are on hand to suppose those who needed it. The team was immediately deployed and cared for the guests and other circus employees,” said police spokesman Stefan Heiduck.
Mayor Karten Vogt expressed his distress at the incident and told MDR: “The accident has deeply affected us. On behalf of the city, I express my sincere condolences to the relatives and bereaved. Our thoughts are with the families and all those affected by this terrible accident.”
