As Christmas comes closer, people are starting to plan out their menu for the special day. But Marks & Spencer’s shoppers have been left outraged after noticing one thing about this year’s Christmas food range
While Christmas is still a good month and a half away, it can be advisable to start your preparations now in order to spread the costs while also making the lead up to Christmas Day less stressful.
December can often end up being an expensive month for many, as people tend to indulge in special food and drinks for weeks leading up to Christmas Day as a way of enjoying the festive periods. If you celebrate Christmas, you’ll probably also be aware of how expensive the presents and Christmas dinner can be. Becuase of this, some are opting to get started on buying these things months in advance in order to spread the costs.
As she was planning ahead for her own Christmas celebrations, a mum named Hannah has expressed her outrage after noticing one thing while looking through the 2025 Marks & Spencer Christmas food range for the first time.
“Anyone look through the M&S Christmas food catalogue yet? Because, what on earth?” she said at the start of the TikTok video. “Don’t get me wrong, love, love M&S food. Love Christmas M&S food.”
However, she went on to say: “Some of the prices, guys my jaw dropped.”
Hannah then said that she acknowledges that some people won’t be bothered about the food prices, as ‘it’s Christmas’ and people tend to spend more money at that time of year, especially for food. However, she claimed that this wasn’t enough for her to justify the amount that the supermarket chain has priced some of their Christmas food item this year.
Hannah explained that this is one of her favourite times of the year to get the Christmas themed M&S food catalogue and circle all the bits that she liked the look of, comparing it to what most people will remember doing with the Argos catalogue when they were younger.
“But this is crazy,” she said before starting to show some of the prices for different food items that are available to order in the 2025 M&S Christmas food range.

Starting with the beef wellington, which the website said serves up to six people, she claimed looked great and said she was certain would taste just as good – but went on to say that she didn’t think it was worth the £195 it was listed for.
Next up was the turkey, where Hannah said: “I will never ever understand why people spend the money they do on an oversized chicken.”
She went on to show that the British-grown, free range turkey would serve six to 10 people, going on to reveal the £95 price tag you’d have to pay to get your hands on it.
“Let’s move on to the pie,” Hannah said as she showed off the Turkey and Stuffing pie before revealing the price. “It’s probably beautiful. £50. £50 for a pie?”
Next up was the Aberdeen Angus Rib of Beef, which cost £165 for a serving of eight to 10 portions, while the Sirloin & Ribeye of Beef joint for six people came to £105. Moving on to the sides, the orange and yellow British carrots for four people will set you back £8.
“Listen, each to their own, but that, to me, is obscene money,” Hannah said. “M&S, I love you, I really do. And it’s probably, you know, gold plated beef and turkey, and God knows what else. But f**king hell.”
And Hannah wasn’t the only one with this reaction, as thousands of viewers took to the comments to share their thoughts.
“You showed the beef wellington and I confidently said ‘that’ll be about £12’” one person wrote, along with some cry laughing emojis, while another viewer said: “I thought Tesco beef wellington for £70 was bad.”
A third person added: “Be cheaper to go out for Christmas dinner.”
Despite the outrage of the prices, people all seem to agree that the food looked delicious, as one viewer said: “that looks banging.”
“You can’t deny that the food looks great tho,” another person wrote.
