The tip will save consumers more than £70 on the TV part of the package

Consumers looking to upgrade their TV packages will know that locking into a plan can come at a pricey cost. Especially if everyone at home wants the latest sports, cinema, and popular series.

One plan at Sky, however, works out much cheaper for those who look past its £15 Essential TV plan for something different. Households that are in need of a TV and broadband deal will end up saving on the TV part of the plan when bundled into one.

This is where the Ultimate TV and 150Mbps Full Fibre plan, priced at £39 a month, comes in. That’s because on its own the Full Fibre 150Mbps plan is priced at £27 a month, making the TV part of the bundle £12 a month – £3 cheaper monthly than if shoppers were to pick the £15 a month Essential TV plan.

And it gives viewers more channels. As stated on Sky’s site, bundling the plans together not only saves users money but also bundles in extras.

It says: “Get over 35 extra channels than Essential TV.” On top of this, there’s more content included with Sky Max, National Geographic, and Sky Witness.

Sky Ultimate TV and Full Fibre 150Mbps broadband

Shoppers who pick a Sky TV package and broadband together can cut the cost.

Those who pick the bundle will also get all the features of the Essential TV plan – more than 100 channels, Sky TV, Sky Atlantic, Discover+, and a standard with ads Netflix account. The addition of being able to stream Netflix often sways consumers to buy the package.

It’s long been a standout feature of Sky TV plans, however, it’s now not the only provider to offer it. Virgin Media has recently made a significant change to its plans by offering the streaming site too.

Now on its £30.99 M125 Fibre Broadband+ Flex package, this includes Netflix too. It’s another option for TV and broadband shoppers, and unlike Sky’s long 24-month contract, it is available on a 30-day rolling option.

Another rival provider to consider is EE. It usually has higher prices than Sky, but a current deal puts it within the same cost for the first few months of a new package.

The Full Fibre 74 plan is now £27.99 a month, but in month six, it rises back up to £52.99 a month. Like Sky’s Ultimate TV and Full Fibre 150Mbps plan, this is another combo bundle.

The price is competitive for the first six months, but from month seven, it is a lot to pay considering it has slower 74Mbps speeds. The TV part of the plan includes a TV Box Mini, Discover+, Netflix (a standard with ads plan) and NOW entertainment.

Sky’s prices listed are only available to new customers. Anyone who already has a plan with the provider will know that its sales aren’t inclusive of current customers.

Another thing to note is price hikes, this has become common for most providers but Sky’s prices do rise with inflation. This means that there are often mid-contract price hikes.
