Condensation can be a real pain to deal with, especially on cold and frosty mornings. Now you won’t have to worry about the problem ever again on your car window
With temperatures slowly dropping across the UK, it’s the time for condensation and mould to appear in our homes and cars. Often condensation happens when warm, moist air cools down by contacting a solder surface.
It causes water vapour in the air which turns into visible liquid water droplets and tends to occur when cold air holds less moisture than warm air, usually as the weather starts to decrease. It begins around autumn and lasts until we see the end of winter with windows often being the victim of the problem. Now people with cars will know just how frustrating condensation can be.
Imagine it’s a cold morning and not only do you have to de-ice the car, but wait for the windscreen to be visibly clear.
Luckily one man on TikTok, known as @allukreviews, recently shared a common mistake UK drivers have been making.
The user said: “If your car looks like this in the morning, it’s not just condensation, it’s the first warning sign of a much bigger problem.
“So last winter, every morning I’d come down to my car covered in condensation. I’d spend ages wiping down the windows, freezing in the car waiting for them to clear.”
But while wiping is usually a quick fix, it doesn’t solve the problem with the damp air which is still trapped inside the car.
The user added: “That’s what makes it smelly musty and even worse over time it can cause mould and actually damage the interior.
“I got so fed up last year that I went looking for a fix then I found these little bags and I honestly didn’t think something this simple would work but after leaving one in overnight I came back the next morning and the windscreen was completely clear.”
Discussing the condensation bags which can be found on Amazon for £7 at time of writing, the driver claimed they’re filled with beads designed to pull all the moisture from the air and store it inside.
And the really clever part is you can keep reusing the bag as the dot on the front turns pink when it’s full so all you need to do is microwave it then reuse it again.
He continued: “No wiping, no waiting just got straight into my car and drove,” before he concluded: “I’ve had the same pair since last year and they’re still like new.”
The brand he was specifically talking about was the Summit SUM-90 Reusable Dehumidifier Bag which costs £7 on Amazon.
While it’s currently in stock, drivers should rush to purchase it before others snap it up.
