Travel expert predicts five destinations will best for cheap holidays in 2026

The holiday expert has taken his time to look through travel statistics to find the top holiday destinations that offer cheap stays that he thinks will become all the rage in 2026

As the days grow darker and more dismal, you might find yourself daydreaming about jetting off on a holiday next year. But with prices soaring across the board over the past year, travel costs have also taken a hit.

While there are plenty of destinations within reach in Europe that offer more affordable getaways, it can be a fun idea to find somewhere new to go. But deciding on where to go is often one of the most difficult and frustrating parts about booking a holiday. However, one holiday guru, known online as ‘robonthebeach’, has delved into travel statistics to identify the top holiday hotspots offering affordable stays that he believes will be all the rage in the coming year.

“There are five destinations that I think are about to go viral in 2026,” Rob announced at the start of his TikTok video.

He proceeded to explain that he had analysed travel data from the previous year to pinpoint the up-and-coming travel spots that are gaining popularity – and often prove cheaper than other alternatives in the same region.

“These are places rising fast in 2025 that I think are about to hit the next level next year,” he added.

5. Porto, Portugal

“Lisbon had its moment, and Porto’s next,” Rob forecasted. “It’s cheaper, people say it’s trendier, and it’s got that perfect mix of Old Town charm and ocean views.

“It’s becoming the new city break with sunshine favourite. And we’ve seen bookings here shoot up already this year. The fact that it still flies under the radar against Lisbon and Algarve makes it feel like the next big thing for travellers,” he added.

He then went on to share that he’d found an offer for a three-night stay in Porto, including flights and hotel stays, for £213 per person.

4. Seville, Spain

Spain has long been a favourite holiday destinations for Brits due to its many versatile options, perfect for a city break or enjoying the beaches of the Spanish coast. But while Benidorm, and Marbella have been some of the most popular holiday destinations, Seville is now getting its moment.

“It’s got the architecture of Madrid, the atmosphere of Barcelona, but it’s half the price and the food’s better,” Rob said.

So how much can you expect to spend for a holiday to Seville?

The holiday expert went on to reveal that he’d found an offer on booking.com for flights and accommodation costing £182 per person for a three night stay.

3. Bulgaria

Rob went on to explain that Bulgaria is becoming ‘the go-to’ for people looking for affordable beach holidays. But he went on to say that the country has a lot more to offer rather than just being a cheap holiday destination.

“The hotels are improving, the beaches are spotless, and Sunny Beach is growing up a little bit,” he said. “It’s still dead fun, there’s just less chaos.”

And the prices are there to prove just how cheap it is, as Rob went on to share that he’d found a seven day holiday offer, including flights and a all-inclusive hotel stay for a family of four for £214 per person.

2. Agadir, Morocco

For the first option outside of Europe, Rob explained that many people have recently discovered that Morocco serves as an excellent alternative to the Canary Islands, as it provides all-inclusive resorts at more affordable rates, plus an exotic culture without requiring a long-haul flight.

Rob continued: “It’s a four hour flight from the UK, the weather’s about 25 degrees all year, and the resorts have gone up a notch in the last few years.”

So what’s the cost for a week-long trip there? Rob shared that he’d discovered an all-inclusive package including flights for £370 per person.

1. Egypt

For his top pick, Rob argued that Egypt has experienced one of the most dramatic transformations in recent years, with certain destinations now providing world-class accommodation at more reasonable rates.

“The beaches, and the diving, and the all-inclusives are unmatched at its price, and I think 2026 is the year that Egypt becomes the luxury destination without the long-haul flight,” he said.

He then revealed that a seven-night stay at a five-star all-inclusive hotel in June 2026 would cost £412 per person.
