UK households are snapping up a new under sink water filter from a company co-owned by Bear Grylls, which is said to save people over £100 a year compared to buying bottled water. The Water2 Pod 2.0 Starter Kit, usually priced at £129 with £99 annual replacements, now has an exclusive £20 discount using the code ‘READER’, bringing the price down to £109.

The kit is being hailed as an easy, affordable solution to enhance tap water quality whilst reducing plastic waste. It’s designed to filter up to 99.99% of microplastics and bacteria and over 95% of chlorine, eliminating the ‘horrid taste’ and lingering odours some people experience from standard tap water.

Already in use by more than 150,000 UK homes, this compact system fits neatly under sinks, connects directly to existing taps and provides clean, great tasting water on demand. The Water2 Pod 2.0, founded in 2020 by entrepreneur Charles Robinson and co-owned by Bear Grylls, stands out for its advanced multi stage filtration technology, which tackles more than just chlorine and odours.

It targets microplastics, bacteria and trace contaminants such as lead that can sometimes slip through conventional UK water filters. This means users can enjoy water that not only tastes fresh but also feels cleaner and safer.

Designed for convenience, this unit can be installed in about 10 minutes without the need for a plumber. It fits snugly under most kitchen sinks and connects directly to the cold water line, keeping countertops clear, reports Birmingham Live.

Water2 Pod 2.0 Starter Kit

The Water2 Pod 2.0, which was founded in 2020 by entrepreneur Charles Robinson, stands out for its advanced multi stage filtration technology, which tackles more than just chlorine and odours.

The filter capsules only need replacing once a year and the system comes with a 100-day money-back trial and a five-year warranty for added peace of mind. According to the brand, a typical household spending around £20 per month on bottled water could save over £140 a year by switching to Water2, while also eliminating single-use plastics.

With a growing reputation and thousands of positive reviews, Water2 continues to build trust among consumers who want to make a small change that has a big impact on their wallets, health and the planet.

There are other options available on the market too, such as the Franke Doric Filterflow Monobloc Tap, which is currently reduced from £335.95 to £225.95. This tap features an advanced ceramic filtration system, has a modern look and can deliver hot, cold and filtered water through its triple handle.

The Abode Orcus 3 Way Aquifier Chrome Filtered Water Kitchen Mixer Tap is another option, available from Home Supply for £367.20. It has a chrome finish, a 360-degree swivel spout and promises ‘crystal clear filtered water’.

The Water2 Pod 2.0 Starter Kit has received glowing feedback on its website from more than 13,000 customers. One satisfied buyer commented: “Very good filter. With the use of Water2 filter, tap water became drinkable. And better coffee, no more hard limescale in the kettle. No need any longer to buy filter for our jug (space saving as well) and cost to run no more than it used to be with traditional filter. So convinced about the results, we’ve bought Water2 shower head.”

A second customer remarked: “Has really changed the taste of our tap water and now we’re saving a small fortune in bottled water purchases.” Meanwhile, a third user said: “Absolutely love the filter, it’s very easy to change and the taste of the water is fantastic. Highly recommend this product.”

However, not all purchasers were completely convinced, with one noting: “Better than the mains but still lacking taste.” Despite this, the vast majority of customers expressed satisfaction, with another declaring: “Fantastic. Crisp lovely water. No smell of chlorine. Delicious!” A further buyer added: “On Thames Water supply and it’s horrible, this filter removes that horrid taste.”

The Water2 Pod 2.0 Starter Kit can be purchased from Water2.
