Shoppers have the chance to nab a free LEGO advent calendar this weekend, but they’ll need to be swift. The calendars, which have been hailed for providing ‘hours of fun’ and leaving children ‘over the moon,’ have received a 100% recommendation rate from those who’ve purchased one at Argos so far.

Savvy shoppers can get their hands on one for free by doing just one thing. The LEGO City and LEGO Friends advent calendars usually retail for £20 each, but thanks to a special offer from a money-saving website, there’s a way to get one without spending a penny.

TopCashback, the money-saving website, is offering all new members who purchase an advent calendar worth £20 or more before October 31 a free £20 bonus. This means that savvy shoppers who sign up with TopCashback and purchase either the LEGO City or LEGO Friends calendar from Argos can effectively get it for free once the bonus is paid.

Meanwhile, for those after a film franchise-inspired LEGO Advent calendar, like the Star Wars or Harry Potter options, they usually cost £30 but can be snapped up for £9.61 at Argos after the bonus and cashback are applied. And it’s no surprise this advent calendars are selling like blocky hotcakes.

Beauty advent calendars from big-name brands have seen a surge in popularity in recent years, with M&S’ £60 option particularly appealing to shoppers who can bag over £300-worth of beauty products with a £35 qualifying spend. However, more unconventional advent calendars have also gained traction, with children and fun-loving adults alike having a wide array of treats to choose from throughout December, reports Wales Online.

Craft Buddy’s Disney Crystal Art Advent Calendar (£34.99) is a delightful option, offering a festive figure each day to be crafted and added to the reusable magnetic Christmas tree. For Marvel fans, there’s a charming Funko Pop calendar (£25), and for little ones who love Bluey, there’s a dedicated calendar.

These are just a few of the fun options still available, alongside Argos’ extensive range of LEGO advent calendars. LEGO advent calendars have grown in popularity over the years, with themes ranging from Star Wars and Harry Potter to Minecraft, Spiderman, and Disney Frozen. These calendars promise to bring joy throughout December 2025.

However, two of the earliest and arguably most cherished by younger children are LEGO City and LEGO Friends. The LEGO City option, suitable for children aged 5 and above, comes packed with 186 festive pieces perfect for brick building fun. Characters include Father Christmas, a man dressed as a Christmas tree, and Mother Christmas carrying a pretzel.

On the other hand, the LEGO Friends calendar will delight fans of the TV show it’s based on. Suitable for children aged 6 and above, this 237-piece calendar features familiar characters like Aliya, Autumn, Liann, Nova, and Leo, along with a Christmas tree, hot chocolate station, and more.

Both sets are perfect for imaginative young LEGO fans who enjoy constructing their own creations, providing a wealth of festive elements which can be integrated into larger builds. And customers who’ve already purchased them for Christmas 2025 have awarded the calendars a 4.8 and 4.7 star rating out of 5, with 100% of Argos shoppers for both calendars stating they would recommend them.

One five-star reviewer hailed the LEGO City version as ‘probably the best Christmas present ever,’ commenting: “Every year my son receives this advent calendar and he is over the moon with it.” Another branded it as ‘good value,’ even before the TopCashback freebie, whilst a third praised it for having ‘lots of cute mini figures’.

Meanwhile, examining the LEGO Friends calendar, one customer commended it for delivering ‘hours of fun,’ stating: “Bought for granddaughter last year, really pleased with it, so I bought her this year to build on it. Good price and hours of fun. Quality is good too, lots of variety when opening doors. Assembly is easy with no issues to speak of.”

Another buyer was returning to purchase one for a second year. They noted: “My children loved these Lego advent calendars last year so making a tradition of it.”

While there are no negative reviews for the set on Argos, as with all Lego sets the pieces are quite small meaning it’s not suitable for the smallest of children, who might prefer an advent calendar devoted to Play-Doh (£20) or Bluey instead. But for fans keen to snag a free LEGO Advent calendar, full details on how to do so are below.

How to get a free LEGO Advent Calendar with TopCashback

  1. Sign up as a new member at TopCashback for free via this link.
