Save money on your central heating bill this winter with portable heater that’s just £31

By staff26 October 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

If you’re already dreading seeing your central heating bill soar as the temperatures drop this winter, then this compact portable heater is perfect – and you can get it for just £31.50

With the temperatures continuing to drop as we barrel towards November, many of us have already caved in and switched on our central heating. However, that also means we’ll be seeing a huge rise in our energy bills as we try to keep our houses warm over the winter months.

However, one great alternative is the Handy Heater Instant Heat which you can pick up at Yimbly, an online marketplace owned by Mirror ’s parent company, Reach Plc. Although the heater is already reasonably priced at £34.99, Reach readers can get an exclusive discount of 10% when they use the code AUTUMN10, bringing the price down to £31.50.

The code works until November 30, giving you plenty of time to stock up on winter warming essentials site wide, including heated blankets, dehumidifiers and heaters like the Handy Heater Instant Heat. The compact-sized heater is perfect for adding some extra warmth to your home without breaking the bank and saving you money compared to turning your heating on.

Whilst the average UK home spends between 75p to £1.20 an hour to run gas central heating, or £1.20-£2 for electric central heating, the Handy Heater Instant Heat costs just 30p an hour to run, so you can keep it on for longer. The heater has 1200w of power and heats up quickly, using copper-infused ceramic technology to help sustain prolonged warmth in your room.

It has a dual-speed heat circulating fan that lets you choose from a gentle wave of warmth or a more powerful stream of it, and the fan helps ensure it reaches the far corners of your space in almost any size room. Its compact design measures just 15.4 x 14.5 x 14.5cm so it can be placed on almost any surface, from tables and desks to counters to help project warm air everywhere.

In the warm summer months, it can be switched to a cooling mode which helps keep you comfortable with a cold breeze. The Handy Heater Instant Heat also has an adjustable LED light which gives off an orange-red glow, so you can create a cosy atmosphere, and it even has additional safety features that automatically switch it off if it becomes too hot or gets knocked over or picked up.

Elsewhere, Amazon stocks the 1200W Portable Ceramic Heater for £21.99 which has a curved design and looks great in your room. You can also pick up Philips’ 2000 Series Compact Ceramic Fan Heater for £59.99 for the 1500w version, or the 2000w one is now £62.65 down from £79.99 for extra power.
