The Wolverine star Hugh Jackman and his famous new girlfriend posed for cameras for the first time after his almost 30 year marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness came to an end
Hugh Jackman made his red carpet debut with his famous new girlfriend, just months after finalising his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness. The two were married for almost 30 years.
On Sunday (26 October) Hugh and musical theatre icon Sutton Foster attended the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Song Sung Blue together, marking their first red carpet appearance as a couple. The 57-year-old actor turned up in a classic black suit and smiled with his arm around Sutton, who wore a black satin dress.
Though the two have been snapped together before whilst on various date nights, this was the first time they posed for pictures on a red carpet. They both looked incredibly happy and relaxed together. This comes only four months after he and his ex-wife Deborra-Lee finalised their divorce.

The pair first met in 2003, which was seven years into his marriage to Deborra-Lee. The Broadway legends crossed paths at a performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie, in which Sutton was the lead. Over a decade later, they would reconnect and dance together during the ceremony at the 68th Tony Awards, which Hugh was hosting.
In March 2019, they were announced as co-stars in the Broadway revival of The Music Man. Rehearsals were paused due to the pandemic but resumed in December 2021, and by February the next year, they were on stage.
Their friendship whilst working together was extremely close, with Sutton referring to herself as the “luckiest woman in the world” for getting to work with Hugh, and Hugh getting the audience to sing Happy Birthday to Sutton on her 47th birthday.
The next year, Hugh and Deborra-Lee announced their separation after 27 years of marriage. The two had gotten married in 1996 and adopted two children together.
But in September 2023 they released a statement saying: “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
Sutton was married at the time, but filed for divorce from her husband Ted Griffin in October 2024, after ten years together. In January of this year, Sutton and Hugh were photographed holding hands whilst out to dinner.
A week later, they were seen kissing outside American fast food chain In-N-Out. By May, Deborra-Lee had filed for divorce from Hugh, and their divorce was finalised in June.
The Song Sung Blue premiere is the first official outing for Hugh and Sutton as a couple. The film, which also stars Kate Hudson, sees Hugh as one half of a Neil Diamond tribute act.
