Muddy shoes, fallen leaves, dirt and debris from the latest dog walk – it’s often a home’s floors that bear the brunt of the season, particularly as wet and windy weather sets in. A lightweight yet powerful cordless vacuum makes it easy to stay on top of the mess without needing to drag out a heavy upright model.

Now could be the time to invest, since the Shark PowerPro Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum is currently on sale for £189.99. Now £90 off its full £279.99 price tag as part of an early Black Friday offer.

Black Friday falls on Friday, November 28, but despite the sale being weeks away, Shark has cut hundreds off across its household vacuums, steam cleaners, and hair tools. Making it an ideal time for consumers to shop.

The brand says it ‘delivers powerful suction for exceptional cleaning performance, in a lightweight stick design’. Designed with pet owners in mind, its Anti Hair Wrap Technology actively removes hair from the brush roll to prevent tangles and clogs.

The FloorDetect automatically adjusts the roll speed to optimise cleaning based on the surface. Thanks to its Anti-Allergen Complete Seal, the vacuum traps over 99.99% of dust and allergens too.

Other smart features make the PowerPro cordless vacuum a reliable partner for whole-home cleaning, like LED headlights that illuminate dirt, and a folding wand for cleaning under furniture. The brand says it can run in eco mode for up to 50 minutes on a single charge.

Included with the Shark PowerPro vacuum are a crevice tool, upholstery tool, and FurFins pet tool that’s designed to loosen pet hair from surfaces. For peace of mind, there’s a five-year guarantee (two years for the batteries).

Shoppers with less to spend could pick up the Ewbank Airblitz 2-in-1 cordless stick vacuum cleaner from Dunelm for £80. The main brush head has integrated LEDs, and the vacuum comes with a dusting brush and crevice tool too.

The VACTechPro V15 cordless vacuum from Amazon is another solid choice for pet owners. It’s currently £123.49 down from £199.99, and offers similar features to the Shark vacuum – including floor detection, an anti-tangle brush, several attachments, and up to 70 minutes’ runtime, according to the brand.

Users are pleased with their PowerPro vacuum, which is rated 4.4 out of five on the Shark website. One customer noted: “Bought this as I was fed up with the other cordless vacuum I had being wrapped with hair. First use was amazing, no hair around the brush, exactly as advertised, which was brilliant, and excellent suction too.

“Easy to handle and swap tools, battery lasts well. Very pleased.” Another praised the appliance, saying: “I purchased this vacuum a couple of weeks ago. What a game-changer! It has become a fight over who does the hoovering now.

“It is so easy to use and glides around effortlessly on all surfaces.” A third added: “Great item. Light and easy to use. Folds down to store easily.”

One left feedback for the vacuum, saying: “Having used my Shark for a few weeks, I really like the ease of it. At a certain age, I needed an easier cleaner to take up the stairs.

“As a handheld, I find the suction not very strong and limited attachments. Needs a proper brush attachment. I do love that I can go from carpet to hard floors very easily.”

A second person wrote: “Picks up well, good battery life, a bit weak on carpets, even with boost. No manual override for auto floor sense, which means power cannot be lowered on small mats.”
