St Lucia murder: Brit found dead with multiple gunshot wounds

By staff30 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

A British man has been found dead with gunshot wounds in St Lucia – Kenrelle O’Flaherty, 26, is originally from London and was visiting the island from Anguilla where he lived

A British man was found dead with gunshot wounds in St Lucia on Tuesday.

Kenrelle O’Flaherty, 26, was visiting St Lucia from Anguilla where he was living. He was found fatally shot late on Tuesday evening in Garrand, Babonneau, on the island’s North East coast.

Royal Saint Lucia Police Force said officers from the Babonneau station received reports of a lifeless body along a roadway at around 10:50pm. Upon arrival, police discovered O’Flaherty with apparent gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

It is believed that O’Flaherty, who is originally from London and had been living on nearby Anguilla, was on a short visit to St Lucia. It is not known how long he was on the island for before he was shot. Police have now launched a murder investigation.

Mum ‘murdered her two-year-old son and dumped his body in pile of laundry’

Mum whose death sparked murder probe had ‘a heart full of love and kindness’

A police source said: “We are urging anyone with information to contact the major crimes unit. We would like to know who he was visiting and why he was in the area.

“We have very little information about the victim. All we know is that he was British and visiting from an island nearby. We need to get to the bottom of this immediately.”

This comes after a gran was found dead on a remote island after she was left behind by a cruise ship. Suzanne Rees, 80, was only reported missing when she failed to arrive for dinner, some five hours after she vanished on Lizard Island in Queensland, Australia.

The solo tourist had been on an organised hike there but fell ill and, while she lay stricken, the cruise ship departed for its next stop.

Ms Rees’s family has blasted the “failure of care and common sense” by Coral Expeditions, owned by National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA) in Australia, which operates the 60-day cruise.

Coral Expeditions’ chief executive Mark Fifield said: “The crew notified authorities that a woman was missing, and a search and rescue operation was launched on land and sea. Following the operation, Coral Expeditions was notified by Queensland Police that the woman had been found deceased on Lizard Island.

“While investigations into the incident are continuing, we are deeply sorry that this has occurred and are offering our full support to the woman’s family.

“The Coral team has been in contact with the woman’s family, and we will continue to offer support to them through this difficult process.

“We are working closely with Queensland Police and other authorities to support their investigation. We are unable to comment further while this process is underway.”
