Thousands of students will be eagerly picking up their A-Level results this week (Thursday, August 14).

But whether it’s good or bad news, there are plenty of freebies that you can claim just by showing your results paper and your student ID. The majority of these deals are only available if you’re dining in or collecting food to takeaway.

They won’t work with third party delivery firms. Make sure you ask your favourite restaurant if they’re still running their A-Level results deal before you put your order in. It comes after a high street chain launches 70% off closing down sales as 25 shops set to shut.

A-Level and AS results are out for pupils in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on August 14, while GCSE results will be released on August 21.

Last year, 27.8% of UK A-Level entries were awarded an A or A* grade, up from 27.2% in 2023. Scotland has a different qualification system and students received their results on Tuesday last week.

Thousands of pupils will also receive results for vocational technical qualifications (VTQs) this month. Results for VTQs at Level 3 taken alongside or instead of A-Levels, such as BTecs, will be released to students on or before August 14.

Results for many Level 2 VTQs are expected on or before August 21.
