Abandoned EU super club left to rot will reopen in 2025 with huge £100 catch

By staff9 May 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Once an abandoned super club, now an upcoming party venue – UNVRS in Ibiza is set to be the world’s biggest night club and promises to “revolutionise clubbing and nightlife”.

An abandoned super club based in San Rafael, Ibiza is set to be given a new lease of life in 2025, as it opens its doors again for the first time in five years. It spans 6,500 square meters and has the ability to host a small town’s worth of people within its premises – that’s a whopping 10,000 people.

The venue was once known as Privilege Ibiza. The club opened in 1994 and quickly became a must-visit spot in the Ibiza nightlife scene, thanks to its stacked musical line-up, including world-renowned DJs like FatBoy Slim, David Guetta, Carl Cox and Pete Tong.

With the ability to house 10,000 people and a host of celebrity patrons including Boy George, Madonna, David Bowie, and Grace Jones – who was a frequent guest – it’s no surprise that the club became the go-to for a legendary night out.

But its fortunes were put on ice when it closed its doors indefinitely in 2020 due to the pandemic – leaving the venue to fall into disrepair. It quickly became a bucket-list destination for travellers visiting Ibiza and wanting to see the ghosts of parties past.

But now, the newly revamped venue, renamed UNVRS (pronounced universe) is set to bring back its wild parties and will reopen later this month. It’s said to have room for an extra 5,000 party-goers, hosting 15,000 people at a time.

The reopening of the club is in good hands, as Yan Pissenem, CEO of The Night League – the group behind other iconic Ibiza clubs like Ushuaia and HI Ibiza – is behind the renovation of UNVRS. On the HI Ibiza site, UNVRS promises to combine “high-end service, luxury” to “revolutionise clubbing and nightlife”.

They’re aiming to be a “technologically-advanced venue” and will host world-famous DJs at what’s set to be the home of the “best parties in Ibiza.”

However there is a huge catch for party people hoping to bust a move in the super club.

In line with Ibiza’s extortionate prices, the cost of a drinks package will set you back £100 (99,99€). The special offer gives customers only five drinks despite the eye-watering total, but claims to “save time and up to 20€. According to clubtickets.com, this price doesn’t include your ticket or premium spirits and cocktails.

Despite the prices, people are eager to attend the super club’s opening weekend and while waiting for the big date, you can keep tabs on the super club by following them on their social media pages and website.
