Police have released CCTV images of a couple who allegedly shouted racial abuse at customers when they were asked to leave the Buck Inn in Northallerton and are now being investigated for hate crimes
Police have released CCTV images of a couple they would like to speak to in connection with an incident of alleged racial abuse at a Wetherspoons pub.
The alleged incident took place at The Buck Inn in Northallerton on Monday, January 22, when a couple were heard shouting racial abuse at other customers and asked to leave the premises after growing increasingly aggressive, North Yorkshire Police said.
A spokesperson confirmed police are treating the incident as a public order offence and a hate crime. Officers believe a man and woman pictured on CCTV may have information that could help the investigation.
Describing the incident, a force spokesperson said: “A couple were heard shouting racial abuse at other customers. When they were asked to leave they became aggressive.”
