The popular budget supermarket has brought back some of its most sought-after beauty buys just in time for Mother’s Day – but you’ll need to be quick if you want to snap them up
When it comes to Aldi’s middle aisle of Specialbuys , they say ‘once they’re gone, they’re gone’. But due to popular demand, the retailer has brought back some of its much-loved makeup staples, including a ‘luminous filter’ foundation that costs less than a fiver.
Every Thursday and Sunday, the retailer launches a selection of limited edition products in stores, which are made available to browse online on the Friday prior, remaining online for two weeks after. But shoppers need to be quick to snap them up, because the most coveted Specialbuys often sell out quickly, and customers can never be certain when they’ll return, if at all.
Aldi ’s Lacura range spans across makeup, skincare, bodycare and more, with some being available year-round on the shelves, while others are part of the supermarket’s Specialbuys. And this week, customers could get their hands on some of the sought-after beauty buys, such as the Girl Gone Bad Mascara , or the CC Serum Primer.

Priced at £4.99, the Luminous Filter Glamour Foundation helps to illuminate the complexion for glowing, youthful looking skin. Formulated with finely milled powders, it helps to blur the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a glamorous and airbrushed finish. It’s available in six shades, which isn’t as diverse as brands like Charlotte Tilbury, whose Hollywood Flawless Filter comes in twice as many shades, but does cost significantly more at £39.
Another product popular with shoppers is the CC Serum Primer, also £4.99. The colour correcting formula comes in peach or tulip to deliver a fresh, even toned look on its own, while offering a perfect base for makeup. It’s made with Papain, Rose Extract and Sunflower Oil which makes it hydrating with a soft-focus effect for visibly brighter looking skin.
While there are no reviews on the Aldi website, shoppers took to social media to share their love of the primer , with one commenting: “I got both of these – they are brilliant Bronze one is perfect for the summer.”
Another hailed it as ‘the best primer ever’, however, some shoppers did express disappointment that they couldn’t find it in their local stores, including one who said: “My local Aldi rarely have these great beauty products.”
The beauty buys have landed in store just in time for Mother’s Day, making for ideal little treats come March 30. And with most of them costing £5 or less, you could restock your makeup essentials for a fraction of the price compared to the likes of Space NK or Sephora.
The Gloss Boss lipgloss , for example, is £3.99 and comes in three flattering shades: Pretty in Pink, In The Buff and Classic Cocoa. They deliver the perfect amount of shine and hydration to take you from day to night, with lips left looking fuller, smoother, and lightly fragranced. But, if you did fancy splurging on something a little more luxurious, the Fenty Beauty Lip Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow is currently 25% off at Boots, making it £14.25.
The Lacura Specialbuys launched in store on Sunday, March 9. You can browse the range here , or head in store to shop them before they sell out again.
