Aldi will cover the Christmas shop for a handful of its millions of customers this festive season in their “Big Advent” giveaway.
The discount supermarket chain is launching the competition this Sunday, which will run until midnight on Christmas Eve. There are 24 prizes worth up to £100 to be won, and one prize will be awarded each day.
To enter, shoppers need to be over 18 and live in the UK. They will also need to email a picture of each of their Aldi receipts on the day they do their food shop to the supermarket at [email protected] alongside their full name and address.
The winner of the prize for that day will then be randomly selected and emailed the day after. Except for the winner on Christmas Eve, who will be contacted on December 27. All winners will be contacted by then. You will then be reimbursed for the value of your shop with Aldi vouchers – up to the value of £100. So, for example, if your shop one day is worth £66, then you will receive £66 worth of Aldi vouchers. This will also be the case if the shop was only worth £4.50. If it’s more than £100 – you will receive £100 worth of Aldi vouchers.
The competition will open at 8am each day, and you will need to email your entry to the supermarket before 11:59pm that night. In the lead-up to Christmas on December 21, the competition will open at 7am instead. They will continue to close at 11:59pm. You can enter the competition more than once, so if you do a food shop every day leading to Christmas, then you will be able to enter each day.
Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi, said: “Our Big Advent Giveaway is our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers by helping to make the festive season even more special. At Aldi, we are committed to offering the best value and quality, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a magical Christmas without breaking the bank.”
Fans of the supermarket chain will be happy to hear that it has once again slashed the price of its Specially Selected Cairanne red wine from £8.49 to £3.49 for the second year running. The wine french wine is a blend 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 5% Carignan and has been described as being a “rich and layered red”.
Last year, shoppers went crazy for it after wine expert Jane MacQuitty of The Times hailed the beverage as a “present to the nation”. This then forced the supermarket to impose a two-bottle limit for customers – but even then, it still sold out within four days. The offer will run from Monday, December 2 until Sunday, December 8.
