Those who love a snack might be in for the job of their dreams as Aldi have launched a brand new role looking for a crisp connoisseur – and you’ll be in for free crisps in return

Aldi have launched the dream job and it looks like they’ve taken to LinkedIn to find their latest recruit. The job posting advertised a role that’ll turn heads for any “crisp connoisseurs”.

The role is Official Crisp Taster and the successful applicant will receive a selection of Aldi’s most popular crisps to sample at home for free, including Aldi’s Specially Selected Lightly Sea Salted Hand Cooked Crisps, Specially Selected Mature Cheddar & Red Onion Hand Cooked Crisps, the Snackrite Delta Strips and Snackrite Cheese Flavour Cheezios.

The job role couldn’t be easier – as all that’s required in return for crisps is a set of exclusive review ratings including the crisps’ taste, crunch, texture and appearance to help guide the supermarket’s Buying Team on potential future flavours.

Detailed in the official job description, Aldi said: “Taste a selection of our current and brand-new crisp flavours for FREE and tell us what you think to help us decide on products in our range! It doesn’t get much easier (or tastier) than that,” and added: “If you land the job, we’ll send you a range of Aldi crisps to taste and review. All you have to do is share your thoughts and let us know which packs get your official Crisp Taster seal of approval.”

To apply all you need to do is apply with:

  • Full name
  • Age and location
  • Social media handles
  • A short video (no longer than one minute) explaining why they should be Aldi’s next Crisp Taster, including their favourite Aldi crisps and snacking opinions that may help them stand out

NHS worker George Critchley (39) from Sheffield became Aldi’s first-ever Official Crisp Taster in 2024, impressing judges with an application that revealed his love for crisps ran so deep, his wedding tables were named after varieties like Wotsits and Discos.

He said: “Being Aldi’s Crisp Taster was an utter delight – I got to sample new flavours before anyone else and directly influence what hits the shelves. It wasn’t just fun, it was a genuine opportunity to shape the future of snacks for a whole nation. If you’re a true crisp connoisseur, this is a role you don’t want to miss.”

The role of a lifetime was hailed by Michelle Keegan as the “dream job” when she spotted the ad, and said: “IS THIS TRUE @aldiuk because I am READY and available with lots of experience.”

The nationwide competition, live now until Thursday 21st August, where crisp lovers can submit a video application to be in with a chance of winning.
