Aldi issues ‘do not eat’ warning as it urgently recalls popular food

By staff25 June 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

The supermarket has confirmed that certain batches of its Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter contains milk which is not listed on its packaging

Aldi has recalled packs of its own-brand baby potatoes as they could pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy to dairy products.

The supermarket has confirmed that certain batches of its Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter contains milk which is not listed on its packaging.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. The potatoes that have been recalled by Aldi have a use by date up to and including July 1, 2025. The barcode is 4061463488152.

If you have purchased this product and you have an allergy to milk, you can return it to your nearest store for a refund. You can contact Aldi customer services on 0800 042 0800.

In a recall notice published online, Aldi said: “Our supplier is recalling Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter because it contains the allergen milk which is not listed on the packaging.

“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given. We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”

It is the second time in recent months that Aldi has had to recall these potatoes over incorrect labelling. It comes after Laoganma Black Bean Chilli Sauce, which is sold in Sainsbury’s in the world foods aisle, was recalled as it contains undeclared peanuts.

The affect product comes in a jar size of 280g, has the batch code 18232 and best before date of March 8, 2026. Other recalls you should be aware of include Lidl pulling its own-brand hash browns over fears they contain pieces of metal.

The recall affects frozen Harvest Basket Hash Browns in size 750g with the batch number 5144L and best before date of May 24, 2027.

Lidl also recalled batches of its fruit and nut bars over fears they could contain pieces of plastic. The supermarket has recalled Alesto Raw Fruit and Nut Bars in various flavours.

The recall applies to all stock with a best before date of December 2025 with the batch code L24337, and best before date of November 2025 with the batch code L24316.

Meanwhile, health foods brand Grape Tree has recalled its Raw Unsalted Macadamia Nuts because Shiga toxin-producing E.coli was found in one of its batches.

The product that has been recalled has the batch code G41 5 101 250610 and a best before date of July 11, 2026. The pack size is 250g. E.coli infections can cause diarrhea, stomach cramps, vomiting, and fever.
