Aldi makes major change on aisles across its UK stores

Budget retailer Aldi has revealed a significant overhaul coming to one of its aisles in UK stores nationwide.

The discount chain has announced it will be launching a completely fresh wine selection across all its outlets this week. This development follows the supermarket’s recent triumph at The People’s Choice Awards, where it was named Wine Supermarket of the Year.

The retailer’s updated wine collection features an array of new bottles alongside several beloved classics, encompassing full-bodied reds, zesty whites and an assortment of fizzy options. Many of these selections offer an excellence taste without the hefty price tag, perfect for every occasion.

Sam Caporn, Aldi’s wine specialist, explained the fresh selection has been crafted to complement the tastes of the cooler seasons as we transition into autumn and winter.

He continued: “As summer fades, it’s time to uncork the flavours of autumn. Think medium-bodied reds for cosy evenings, or a tropical Stellenbosch Chardonnay alongside a Sunday roast. And here’s a secret – the Cigales Rosé isn’t just for summer. Its vibrant acidity makes it a surprisingly perfect partner for winter dishes too.”

The supermarket has also teased more limited-edition bottles for the festive season, with now shoppers looking forward to the new products. The chain emphasised the fresh collection will provide customers with the opportunity to savour high-quality bottles at reduced costs, reports the Manchester Evening News.

This rollout also arrives after Aldi recently secured its position as the ‘UK’s most affordable supermarket’ in a monthly price study carried out by Which?.

Last month, Aldi regained its crown as the ‘UK’s cheapest supermarket’, snatching it back from Lidl who had taken the title the previous month. Prior to that, Aldi had enjoyed a 20-month reign at the top before being dethroned by Lidl in July 2025.

According to the latest figures, there are over 1,050 stores cross the UK. It’s also the fourth-largest supermarket in the country, with plans to expand, bringing shoppers nationwide the best products for the best prices.
