Aldi has restocked a ‘great’ packed lunch item for perfect sandwiches. The supermarket is stocking £3.99 sandwich boxes, which keep sandwiches ‘fresh and protected’ during your busy day — because nobody wants to get to lunchtime and realise they’ve got a squashed sandwich.

The JOIE Lunch To Go container could be ideal for people packing school or work lunches. The product description says: “Keep your lunch fresh and protected as you head out the door for whatever you have planned for the day ahead.”

Along with the clear triangle sandwich container, the supermarket has square and round options, plus a reusable yoghurt pot. The sandwich box proved popular when it was showcased on social media by Facebook page Dansway Gifts and Bargains UK.

Captioning the post, the page wrote: “Joie Clear Lunch Triangle Sandwich Containers are BACK at ALDI, such a great way to stop your sandwiches from getting squashed.” The post received 1,900 likes and over 400 comments.

One fan wrote: “Ooh that’s going straight in my basket.” A second told their friend: “This has your name on it.” A third viewer wrote: “These are great and are water tight and keep sandwiches fresh.” Someone else shared: “I love stuff like this.” Another shared: “Love mine.” A different fan added: “I got one from Tesco and love it,” while a keen buyer commented: “I want some of these.”

Not everyone was so impressed, though. Someone wrote: “Solving a problem that has been solved.” A different comment echoed: “How did we get by the last 100 years without this great invention?”

Another sarcastic response said: “If only someone could make a plastic lunch box they’d make a fortune.” Meanwhile, a shopper added: “A good old tupperware box will do me.”

For those who are interested, the kitchen items are available to shop in-store now. Like with all SpecialBuy items, stock is limited and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Aldi’s kitchen SpecialBuy range includes a £4.99 Travel Flask with Handle, a £5.99 12oz Vacuum Insulated Food Container, and a £9.99 Student Kitchen Set.

The travel flask is described as a stainless steel flask with a handle and a straw. It is double-walled with a 1.2L capacity, and it is available in peach, lilac, navy, or black and white. Aldi says: “Carry hot or cold drinks on the go with this Travel Flask with Handle.”

Meanwhile, the food container is described as an insulated food flask with a foldable spoon. It is dishwasher safe with a 340ml capacity, and it is available in lilac, green, grey, or brown. Aldi says: “Keep your food warm for on the go with this 12oz Vacuum Insulated Food Container.”

Elsewhere, the kitchen set is said to include ‘all the student kitchen essentials you need.’ It is a nine-piece porcelain and glass dining set with a four-piece cutlery set.
