The 5-in-1 gadget is being billed as an ‘amazing’ and affordable alternative to the very popular Dyson Airwrap – which costs hundreds of pounds more
Aldi shoppers have been clearing the shelves since the latest SpecialBuy collection came out. The collection included a new hair styling tool that gives Dyson a run for its money and those who have bought the 5-in-1 wand have praised its quality online.
The discount supermarket, known for offering a range of alternatives to big-name brands, released the Visage 5-in-1 Hair Styler on Thursday, November 28. It was launched as part of Aldi’s most recent Health and Beauty event.
The £49.99 product is rather pricey by Aldi’s standards. But it’s being compared to the much more expensive Dyson Airwrap, which can sell for around £479.99 (without Black Friday deals) at retailers like Boots and John Lewis.
According to the product description: “This 5-in-1 Hair Styler allows you to experience a strong airflow for quick drying and precise styling. Featuring automatic wrapping, curling, and styling with two curlers for versatile looks.
“This handy styler is fully equipped with a unique metal round brush, concentrated nozzle, and both 32mm and 60mm brushes for every styling need.” Shoppers who were quick enough to get to their local Aldi on release day were able to try it out and share their thoughts online.
One TikTok user (@2024Bridemrsh) claimed it would make “the perfect Christmas gift”. She tested the product on a few different TikTok videos but achieved a look she was “really impressed with” on the lowest heat setting.
After getting tips from others who had tried the product themselves, she upped the heat setting and was blown away by the difference. Others shared their thoughts in the comments.
One person said: “I got one! It’s fantastic!! I tried the Shark a few weeks back and the Aldi one is miles better!” Another added: “Got one today and having tried Dyson before which definitely better quality I’m happy with Aldi as it does exactly the same for a fraction of the price.”
A third wrote: “I have the Dyson and that seems to be the best [alternative] I’ve seen.” Someone else added: “It took me a few attempts to get the hang of this. Apparently have slightly damp hair as well!”
However, not every customer was happy. One said: “I got mine this morning, tried it about an hour ago and it’s rubbish! I’m gutted I’ve wasted £50! Waiting to see if my daughter wants it and if not it’s going on Vinted!”
Another person said: “I returned mine, it’s worse than the travel ones you get it hotels!” A third added: “Bought one yesterday and loved how the curls turned out, but they dropped out within honestly a minute!”
